I was driving next to that PY ITR on Boundary Rd a couple weeks back in my Supra when I first got it! So nice to see it driven around.

The owner of that PY ITR had it since brand new! (I met him back in 2010 actually)

Pretty amazing he resisted modding it all these years and kept it in tip top form.

I saw that PY ITR with a friend at Lansdowne, you know him too tofu.

My CRX from way back had a ZC. Some one had thrown one in a local car and it was honestly one of the best cars I've had, even when I had the shift knob come off in my hand on a 4th to 3rd downshift.

The Recaros are a must; they're way more comfortable than the standard seats.

Geez... lovely cars, but $35k is a big ask used when a brand new BRZ/GR86 can be had for the same price.

Driven both ... I think it depends on where you are in life.

IMO top down is a must for me so I wouldn't consider the GR86 for purchase.

As a track car, the GR is probably cheaper to get setup, but if you're tracking the ND a lot, there are a ton of race spares/used bits from the series cars that you can get for cheap.

I don't know what your preferences are, but I'd opt for a soft top car. You pay more for the RF for less air.

Open air is literally the only reason... or personal preference for styling I guess.

I've had a RF as a rental in Hawaii, which was perfect... and driven a brand new BRZ... the BRZ is way more powerful/fast, at least to my butt dyno anyway.

Maybe slightly less tossable feeling?

This is why we barely see any Miata's anymore though, the prices are just insane especially new. Way beyond what anyone can reasonably pay for a "weekend car" which for most people is all it can ever be.

Numbers don't look thattt far off - GR86/BRZ sold 14k last year, ND sold 10

In my lil bubble, ND seems to be the #3 choice of car for cupsy Millienial/Gen Zs, behind the Model 3/Y and RAV4.

Seems like every "artsy" tech bro at my company bought one in Soul Red .... there's 5 in my building alone.

That said, these people are making 150k straight outta college

The wind buffeting above 110kmh is kinda annoying, as is the shoulder checking.

I would've bought the soft top too... too bad they gate the "triple layer insulated soft top" to the GT.

I love both the ND and the GR86/BRZ, and there are different things I like more in one car or the other. But if it was my own money, I'd go get a Boxster / Cayman.

Jokes aside, between the 2 cars, I'd put my own money behind the BRZ because it has a larger performance-utility envelope than the ND. But if it was their prev gen siblings -- ie. NC vs 1st gen 86/BRZ, I'd go for the NC.

ya I get the complaint the new nd esp rf May seem harder to justify value now that gr86 exists

class of one though for a light bespoke rwd platform, feel like that won’t be recognized until it’s gone or gone electric
