im a bit concerned about the first year production of that v6 TT. Even if its a toyota, this can easily get screwed up given its a brand new engine, with untested reliability.

Plus you add in turbos/complexity/ and youre just gonna be asking for it.

I was able to drive it home so I saved the tow expense. It didn't knock or make any weird noises, but was definitely down on power.

Plan is to get it back ripping at VIMC in August Lol

You can't really tho. You have to drive on/off ferry, can't be towed. You can get towed to/from the terminal tho.

You can flatbed for sure, I've sent vehicles by flatbed to the island before for work.

Prearranged is doable. But post track day in an "emergency" situation, is quite hard to do. I know a few people that left their vehicles on the island and brought parts back over to fix it after just because the tow is so hard / expensive to arrange.

Platinum BCAA, they should cover it no? Comes with a few 300km tows, should be able to tow to border then get a Canadian tow truck to meet you right?

? What is this fake news lol

It's more expensive for sure cause you have to account for the ferry costs if you don't have BCAA but I've never heard of anyone not being able to have their cars towed to/from the island

Bcaa does tow from the island. But you are on the hook for the time the tow guy waited for the ferry. If you have a friend that has a truck and your car can use the U-Haul dollies. That might be the cheapest option to get it towed back.

I am reasonable sure BCAA has cheapened its Platinum membership. Now it only allows for 1x 320km tow, and 3x 160km tows. I seem to think it used to be 3x or 4x 320km tows.

Fun fact -- the drive from Area 27 to Chilliwack is only ~310km!

If you're crossing a lot that'd be a good time to use a guaranteed loading card, if you can figure out how to get one. I've yet to sort out how to actually buy one.

Are you referring to this?

Interesting, never knew about that. Wish they had that at the po-po when I worked for them, had to do a reservation every time because I didn't one time on a turnaround trip and had to wait 3 sailings turned into a very very long day.

That's the one, for some reason I kept only finding the login page and not the one with the signup info lol. It's not cheap but it saves a lot of headache when you need it.

Hopefully its not a spun bearing. If you drove it home it'll for sure need a crank and either rods or a block. If no noise it's probably not a bearing. Was the oil pressure light on? How did you decide it's a bearing?

For 20+ yrs I've been sitting on a very low km block with the frm sleeve issue, the rest of the internals are mint. The plan was to sleeve it when I needed it but then K series became a thing. I'm always on the lookout for a s2k that needs a short block, lol. If you need this for the crank and rods or want to sleeve let me know.

It's finally fixed! I feel like it's lost a bit of character and ride height (visual effect due to having fender liners and a full bumper + lip).
