hahahaha honestly I am even tempted. Though I will just save up for something else under the VW group kekekekeke

The lease payments are just... so manageable, its like 30% cheaper compared to our Elantra N and Civic Si that I priced out on the website...Even the frikkin GT86 + BRZ has bigger payments.

Badhobz might just found a gem that many didn't consider before

Like GTI isn't my first choice but looking at a $500 payment VS a $700 payment sure does make it go down a lot easier~~~ The $200 will cover the insurnace lololol~

^^ yes so much this. It has VERY VERY high residual and the interest rate can be 3.99% on a 24 month or 4. something on a 36 month.

So my lease is 36 month, zero down, and 500 dollars a month TAX in.

I used my openroad club points (1350 bucks off) but otherwise nothing out of my own pocket.

I built a corolla hybrid LE and it was more money. The Integra A spec was 1000 a month, this is half that. The GR86 was 700 a month. Like you just cant beat this price.

If you need a hookup for openroad, go PM dark0823423411515 and he can at least get a referral $$$.

Its quite fun! the chassis is amazing. The shifter is quite long in throws, and not as notchy as the Honda but adequate. I might put in a short throw kit and a weighted knob afterwards.
Infotainment is excellent (besides the capacitive touch shit) but automatic wireless carplay + wireless Qi charger makes life a breeze.

Seats are fantastic, very supportive, and comfortable. Im very very glad I didn't listen to the girls and get the leather package.

I got it with 32kms on the dial and now it already has 310kms. I drove a lot yesterday and this morning.

Only downside seems to be the interior is noisy. Given its economy car roots, I wasn't expecting a lexus level of refinement, but its quite noticeable after being pampered in the ratrolla or the camry. On the highway its louder than expected. Not quite CTR levels, but for sure you can feel the underpinning is an economy car.

Also, the engine sounds like a fucking diesel tractor when idling. God damn I totally forgot just how shitty the ea888 engine sounds (it was the same in my sportwagen)

^ None of the current VW engines sound good, 4, 6, or 8 cylinders. They are all just loud for the sake of loud and sound literally like tractors.

I still prefer the looks the MK7.5, just like how I prefer the look of the F80 over the G80.

I do think the GTI needs mods to come alive. Stock, it's kind of boring. Competent but boring. Even reviewers say it's the least special feeling out of all the current hot offerings. But that's their selling point, being hot when needed but otherwise really boring and great in day to day stuff.

with a 500 dollar tune (91 pump gas) it'll hit 300hp/320ft/lb and basically become a bargin basement CTR.

I was thinking of doing that later, but honestly its just a good honest hatchback. Its quick enough for the city. Now if bic baws and you other trackrats were to somehow magically convince me to go track this thing, the first thing ill do is put in proper brakes.

Single pot front, single pot rears = DEATH

Single front and rear are fine. My MS3 had massive single front and tiny little rears, and it actually shares the same ATE massive front caliper with the Mk7, but with bigger rotors. It survives full 20min sessions at Mission with just pads but it needed a lot of cooldown.

Interesting...

I drove the new GTI at the Island Track. It's so easy to drive fast in on the Auto X. Tell me what you think about the new tablet UI on the new ones.

I'm looking to buy the 8.5 R when it comes out, what's this PM dark0823423411515 hookup?>

8.5 R is gonna be dsg only. Mk8 is the last of the manuals if you care about that kinda thing.

You can do VW mobility program too. Get an extra 1k off.

Just say you’re retarded and you have low IQ.

Face troll you live like a fuckkkg block away from me. Just come over and try it. And bring that skanky Neighbor of yours that crashed into a Corolla while drunk. She looks hot.

Is she outta jail yet ?

I got no problems with DSG for booting around the city. It's quite rough and passengers feel car sick when used in S mode.

If your cameras can see the end of your driveway, look at your footage.

But it’s a garbage product. I’d probably buy a teslas before getting one of those. I was on the fence about getting a model Y because I figure if I was sleeping while driving to work anyways, I might as well put it in autopilot and good luck everyone else.

Stupid easy to get power out of that engine. Come to auto-x or track. The GTI will rock even with stock brakes. They are good enough to start with, and the Germans actually put good brake pads and fluid in because autobahn - can last 4-5 laps without overheating.

My first track day was stock GTI at Mission haha.

Bic is.... really hard on his brakes lololl
