i thought you saved a itr from the salvage yard, but maybe im thinking of another member

twitchyzero 07-25-2024 03:01 PM

been hesitant to take it longer than a weekend trip knowing the motor even at its peak 15 years ago had only maybe dozen examples on this continent so if there was big mechanical problems i'd be fubar'd

but that's a sad life for the vehicle so i'm slowly building up (my) confidence in it

about 500k of dirt roads up northern van isl and around haida gwaii ranging from smooth rallye stage surface to shale trails that came down to the side mirrors where even a group of adventure motorcyclists were turning around

Few changes to get the CLS63 dialed in. Star lowering, 10mm rear spacers, polished the wheels, and painted side markers.

I hated the CLS so much when it was new, but it's aged really well, looks so gangsta now

trollface 07-26-2024 02:07 PM

I can't believe that has C-plates. Makes me feel old.

The Nighthawk, WA border crossing was completely silent, yet all the other cars in the group (E46 M3, E46 M3 Wagon, GT4, TLX) got grilled. Border guard liked the two Type R's the best.

We got a long and well warranted spiel about the dangerous of driving on an open range. Holy cow! That's what I said when I blasted by a cow on the side of the road.

1 tank of gas per year (or longer) crew. Today was the 4th time it has been driven in 12 months. Just lol.
Our baby is 10mo old now. Finally sleeping a bit better. Hoping to get more frequent drives in now.

We should do a dads with very stupid old cars that don't get driven drive sometime. 5am so we can get back before the kids are up?

twitchyzero 07-28-2024 10:53 AM

No. That would be too high tech. It has no power steering, no abs, no air bags.

Instant death awaits you if you flip.

Deadly Ferrari is best Ferrari. Also engine out for almost everything…. No wonder you drive it so little.

took a drive down to the X-Mansion.
started the 60km drive with a full tank and got there with half a tank. first i thought oh great my fuel gauge is busted or something. just to be sure on the way back i dropped by a gas station to top up and i filled 27L....so its not the gauge, i really did 60km/27L. wtf!!! i checked for leaks underneath the car on the spot and nothing. when i got home i jacked up the car and checked for leaks, bone dry on the underside. checked the engine bay. everything looks and smells fine, drives and sounds fine. lifted the trunk carpet to make sure everything is dry. hmmm... :considered:

45L/100km doesn't even sound possible lol. Check your oil and make sure you don't have a stuck injector?

red kryptonite 07-28-2024 11:14 PM

gotcha! just youtubed it, seems straight forward enough haha.

Are you 100% sure the tank was full? Or just hopped in the car and the gauge said it was full? The float on the sender may have been stuck all the way up and dislodged to function properly on the drive.
Unless you were redline banging every gear I don't think the car would even idle if it was running that rich.
I literally get better mileage at the ridge lol.
