Did you factor in the change in diameter affecting the distance on your odo? Though with my XJ it changed 2L/100km just going from BFG KOs to Duratracs in the same size.

The truck doesnt know now accurately how far it has travelled. You need to get your cluster recalibrated to your new tire size.
I dont know how toyota's handle doing that, in the big 3 trucks there are apps, or a simple tuner can flash the new tire size into the computer to make your odometer, speedo and everything else correct again.

Treated myself for my birthday & picked up a Low KM C207 E550 Designo Spec'd Coupe to replace the 190E as a daily. Anyone have tips to maintain this V8 & the 7G-Tronic trans?
After 12 years of commuting in 80's & 90's cars... it sure is nice to try something from at least the 2010's lol. Nice having V8 torque on the hwy again.

Congrats, I think those years of Benz are underpriced on the market for what you get!
I'm not a huge Benz guy but designo is like alcantra roof / wood steering wheel / premium leather seats with piping?

Love your engine bay, as always, and it's a treat to hear that thing open up at Auto-X/track!

What kinda mpg do you get out of that? Is it the Na 5.5 or twin turbo? I heard the turbo can make big power, there was never a AMG of that technically clk Gen. But then you have the glorious 6.3. but I dunno what to do with a V8 AWD coupe. Kinda too unpractical to year round drive + I expect horrible mpg. But also not as exotic as amg

When I had a 2016 CLS550 for a few weeks, I was averaging 20-24L/100KM in Vancouver driving. Dropped to 18L/100KM if it's non-traffic averaging 70-80km/hr. It didn't really matter how hard I was driving, was gonna get 20+ anyways.
My cousin is getting 9.8-10.5 average in Calgary, but it's all highway driving there.
Super undervalued, picked it up for him for $33K @ 58,000KM + Extended warranty for a year + has apple carplay https://imgur.com/a/2YA9lLw

I'm not a huge Benz guy but designo is like alcantra roof / wood steering wheel / premium leather seats with piping? | I agree! Some good bang for buck. Can still find low KM examples. May be outdated to some, but I don't care for a ginormous screen, as long as I can play music I am happy. (CarPlay can be added to the Command system pretty easily!)
Designo interior includes a more premium nappa leather over base, white stitching, AMG steering wheel, and extended leather throughout the interior. Sedan gets Alcantara headliner, unfortunately the coupe does not. Quote:

But also not as exotic as amg | Haven't had it long enough to go through a tank, but I expect to avg 18 MPG. I made sure to find a RWD, with a NA 5.5 (2010-2013.5). Turbo V8 would be amazing, but I am unsure about reliability. Yes no AMG for this gen (fortunately mine has a AMG Performance / Appearance Pack) but no need for me. I feel like my ownership costs would be higher having to maintain the performacy bits. Most of this platform seems to be shared with C Class. This kinda hits a sweet spot for me: Automatic, Simple, Plenty of power, Comfortable, and Feels solid.
To be honest, I never paid much attention to the E Class coupes at first. The taillights are too Japanese looking to me, and the old Merc-style rear quarters look kinda awkward. But I drove a E350 Coupe few weeks ago and fell in love really fast... pillarless coupe, windows down is a vibe Lol.
Also, as much as I love them, the previous gen CLK55 AMG is like double the price of what I got this for... they are getting older too. I feel like I will have to be hunting for parts again / fixing micky-mouse mechanic mistakes which I no longer have time for.
I have a SUV I switch to for winter, and a track car that is no longer fun on the street (I am getting old). So this fills in a gap for the Spring / Summer / Fall commute.

That’s a sweet bday present! My favourite gen E class, sharp body lines and headlights. Current MB are too rounded.
The MR2 article was a good read.

Great choice, I had the facelift one and the 5.5L biturbo V8 engine, while powerful had some fatal flaws (bore-scoring and an oil camshaft leak wicking through the wires and fries the ECU). Change fluids and filters and enjoy the car.
Oh yeah if you get electrical gremlins, replace the battery in the trunk first. (car has two)

I suppose you'll trade in the X5M for another car once it gets dinged in the parking lot again, huh? The emotional damage is real.

How do you guys not lose your ass on trade in? Usually dealers offer some crazy low-ball. I guess cuz your cars are relatively new?
