$15000 according to bad hobs, m&m design, super car only imaginable https://s3-media0.fl.yelpcdn.com/bph...Ifxng/348s.jpg :troll: |
Moved it to the auto chat for ya |
What ? No no I used wrap workz not m&m design. If I had my way I’d use Vancity vinyl. Jacky and his crew are legit. https://maps.app.goo.gl/izBTWr1kUZgXawim9?g_st=ic They can give you some pointers Wrapworkz if fine just expensive. My wrap held up really well so far and they used inozetec wrap |

1- why did you go to wrap works vs vancity vinyl? 2- whats so good about van city vinyl if you haven't been? (also why didnt you go?) |
It could be just our age tbh... (or I am talking out of my butt) If you knew one of the founding member of Wrap Workz's, you would know he is OG (at least what I consider to be). I was introduced to him super early on, way before Wrap Workz lol. And his Project Mu with TEs is probably one of the 1st set in the GVRD, hahaha and his fiasco with his front bumper... (XD) I still remember gawking at it when I went to his house for car washes... He can network for sure, knew everyone. So totally biased, when Wrap Workz came to be, knew he was involved, and heard they do great work. I would just blindly recommend them because I knew someone and kinda worked from there. |

- I researched online and found that wrapworkz did great work. For a car that had only 11kms on it, I took it into their shop to get it wrapped with some hesitation. I thought they wouldn’t need to disassemble but it turns out they needed to do quite a bit of disassembly (front bumper, headlights, taillights, rear bumper, all door trim and side mirrors) - I hate squeaks and rattles. Like I’m insanely ocd when it comes to that shit So I tried to find the most expensive wrap guy and make absolutely sure their trim guy / wrap guy was up to snuff. Having no experience in wrapping a car I just took word of mouth from friends / forums / internet and decided to go with wrapworkz. - overall they did a great job. There was one piece of trim that was loose but they took care of it. - the downsides are it took them literally a month to do the work. Also the price was almost 10k after said and done. I came upon Vancity vinyl through MJ installs (dash cam install). MJ installs operators out of Vancity vinyl so I got chatting with their boss Jackie. He’s a great guy and he quoted me 350 bucks to get my Calipers painted. I said fine and they turned out great. They had some high end cars being wrapped and they even pointed out all the tiny little things on my wrap that wrapworkz could have done better. The level of professionalism was amazing and I felt these guys really knew their stuff. The quality of work on the f12 they had there was better than mine. They also quoted me 5-6k for the same wrap. So of course next time I’ll go there instead of wrapworkz if the difference is almost 1/2 the price. |

I've had work done by them but not a wrap. Nothing negative to say. All they work on is Tesla, and they've been around awhile. |
I had our Model Y wrapped with Tesla Studios and its just OKAY. there are some corners/spots that weren't perfect..for a place that mostly does Teslas you think they would be pro by now Price wise I forgot the exact amount but it was low $3K. Price depends on if you're paying cash or not. If you pay cash, they will not do ICBC repairs |

Wrap Workz at 10k is out of budget Vinyl studio at 5-6k is also out. 3k is fathomable. |
if youre gonna cheap out then dont do it. at 3k im pretty sure that job isnt the best. You dont want to add to the already "questionable" build quality of the Tesla by having some guy take apart your car and put it back together cheapily. Just get PPF instead. its around 3k |
Don't cheap out on the wrap, it'll drive you insane. My friend did a cheap wrap. His car is blue and he wrapped it gray. You open the doors and the jambs are all blue. My OCD self goes nuts |
^ That happens even at expensive places tho... you gotta pay out the nose like crazy to do all that stuff. |
His edges are also not great. He's happy cause it's no longer smurf blue, but I'd rather not have the wrap considering the quality of work. |
My wrap has held up beautifully. Its been 2 years now and it's still like the day I got it. This Inozetec stuff is pretty good, the red flakes inside the wrap are still visible with no signs of degradation from UV and with only 1 small rock chip from my canyon blasting last summer (the wrap protected the paint from that chip) i dont regret it. Yeah the door jams are still body colored but it blends into my red interior so it doesnt clash when you open the door. Id probably keep my wrap another 2-3 years and then take it off and put on a new wrap, or maybe just PPF this time (im waiting for all the lame ass mazda soul crystal red cars to die off so my infrared will be a bit more rare) https://i.postimg.cc/59Dnggfn/IMG-4129.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Hs53hMxH/IMG-4132.jpg |

The rock chip... did it really protect the paint? Coloured wrap is thinner than PPF, and I have a few chips that have gone through the PFF and hit the paint. |
yeah, it is thinner for sure. like probably 6/10 as thick as PPF. Inoztec is already the thickest wrap that I know of but it still isn't gonna protect like proper PPF. Ill go grab a picture of that rock chip later, the paint underneath is fine. It was very very small so the majority of the damage was taken up by the wrap. |
What you trying to keep it in mind condition so badly for tho? Next guy to be proud of it? lolol Can spend thousands and thousands doing PPFS and wraps and some fucknut is just gonna bash you with your door at the mall or back into your car when you're not around or your windshield is going to get dinged... then you gotta replace or repaint anyway. |
I honestly don't know. I think it's the carryover mentality from my Maserati ownership. I keep forgetting this is a ratrolla and it doesnt need to be pampered. Hopefully the value will go up later when they kill the LC and the last of the NA V8's. But its not something that really matters to me as there isnt anything id really wanna buy to replace it (maybe that Ferrari Roma but the interior of the Roma pisses me off with that ugly ass phablet) |
The PPF for me has so far been the ability to NGAF and use the brush on it at the car wash. The protection is nice too. I do track my car and the front bumper would probably be ruined after about half a track day. |
