Hi can anyone recommend a reasonably price shop to install a clear PPF to the front bumper? Approx how much would it cost? Preferably in the Richmond area. thnx!

In Richmond, ReSpec PPF on River Rd.

Cost will vary by car. Just message or phone them.

If you're going to do the bumper, you may as well do the hood, headlights, and mirrors. 2k ball park price.

On a side note, has anyone ever had UV reduction clear windshield film applied to their cars? I feel like I've seen it before, but I'm not sure about the legality of it.

Yep. Got the whole front done. Car doesn't get as hot in the sun with it, it's great. You can't really tell it's in there, and doesn't make much of a difference for night driving either.

Awesome, that's exactly what I am looking for! How much did it end up costing, if you don't mind me asking?

It's been a couple years so I don't recall exactly. I think it was around $700 for the whole car (Lexus UX)? I did a darker tint for the back and near transparent for the front. This was from PH Solar.

I had been curious about the clear tint for the windshield but I was concerned with rainbowing with light passing through a curved windshield.

I was shocked at the amount of tiny rock chips that my recently purchased 2023 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo picked up after driving it less than 1,000 km. I contacted 4 companies for quotes to PPF the front of my car and ended up going with James from PPF Guys in South Vancouver.

James the owner does all the work himself with his father Charles and they did an outstanding job. I dropped off my car at PPF Guys yesterday at 10AM and received 3 updates with photos throughout that day as James and Charles worked on my car. James worked throughout the day and that night until 11PM to make sure my car was ready for pickup today. James took extra care to wrap all the corners and edges so the PPF blended invisibly and seamlessly to the hood, mirrors, and bumpers. If anyone in the Vancouver area is looking to PPF or ceramic coat their car I would highly recommend James at PPF Guys in Vancouver! As an added bonus their address at 8360 Ontario Street in Vancouver was only a short 15 minute walk from the Marine Drive skytrain station so I was able to easily transit home after dropping off my car yesterday and I transited back today to pickup my car.

If the UV rays don't hurt you, the toxic fumes from the Chinesium fabric certain will.

I inquired about a clear windshield film, and was told in no uncertain terms that it was illegal to have any kind of film on your windshield.

I was originally planning on selling our 2019 Tesla Model 3 performance but we are keeping it because my wife wanted to keep it. Our 2023 Taycan Cross Turismo 4S is mamba green and my wife wanted to have the option of driving a less conspicuous looking vehicle :-). Add to that the value of our 2019 Tesla has plummeted so there was no real advantage to selling it.

On an interesting side note I traded my 2016 BMW 6 speed manual M3 sedan 4 1/2 years ago for our 2019 Tesla Model 3 performance. The trade in value at September 2019 was $45,000 on my M3 and the purchase price of the 2019 Tesla Model 3 performance was $75,000. Fast forward to today and it looks like my 2016 BMW 6 speed manual M3 sedan is still worth around $40,000 and my 2019 Tesla Model 3 performance is worth around $30,000 to $35,000. That M3 was low mileage and in great condition and I regret trading that in.

I got 4 quotes for the PPF on my Taycan 1 from Langley, 1 from Richmond, and 2 from Vancouver. PPF Guys came in at the lowest price and were available to work on my car within 3 days so it worked out well because they did an awesome job.
