Iran launches attacks on Israel! HOLY SHIT https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2024/...ones-at-israel Jesus fucking Christ... this is exactly what the world needs right now. GG everyone else. they jacking container ships now too! https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-68808419 |
As posted in the other thread: Iran started to send unmanned drones to Israel ... damn Netanyahu, this one is on you! Don't pull this 'Oh the world is against Israel BS!' You brought the ire of the world on Israel. |
Damn! Shit got very real in the Middle East now. Iran just sent a stark warning to any country who comes to Israel's aid. Any country which opens its airspace to let Israel attack Iran, will get a military response from Iran. https://www.cnn.com/middleeast/live-...1d4dfc7fa3ece4 Iran's Defense Minister Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Ashtiani issued a stark warning to any country that allows Israel to utilize its airspace or territory for attacking Iran, saying they will face a “decisive response” from Iran. “Any country that opens its airspace or soil to Israel to attack Iran will receive our decisive response,” state news IRNA reported, quoting Ashtiani. This is how this shit started between Iran and Israel: Israeli air defenses are intercepting some Iranian strikes after Iran launched a barrage of missiles toward Israel Saturday in retaliation for an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus earlier this month. Damascus is in Syria. |
God damnit, Biden is gonna intervene. Sending US boys on the ground, that's going to be a huge shit show by itself, leaving Russia and China to do their own thing. China might fuck with Taiwan given the US is now fully committed to the middle east. Russia might even become more aggressive with Ukraine and Nato.... WW3 !!! WW3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HIDE YOUR CHILDREN!! *im gonna go buy some fucking supplies tomorrow at costco* This is gonna tank the already fragile economy. WE ARE FUCKED |
Turkish Airways was one of the first to start augmenting their flight plans, think half a week ago they already started adjusting. Someone said before, Turkey always knows. It really seems like we're in a slowly boiling pot, and we're all just the frogs in it and can't do nothing about it. |
Everything will depend on the followup |
election coming up, we need a fucking war! |

Its probably not a bad idea to stock up on some items (I know you're probably joking in your post but still). I remember my aunt telling me once when I was younger that she never felt more wealthy/rich than when her fridge was full (she grew up in a post war country). It really illustrated the fear of food scarcity that she grew up with after a war destabilized her country. Ask your grandparents or parents if they're old enough what life was like growing up when they were young (esp if they're from Japan, China, Korea, Vietnam, any other country that had a full scale war in the last 70 years etc...) With the way things are going the supply chain will likely become more stressed and the products you could easily get/enjoyed before are probably a little harder to get now adays. Even now the shelves arent stocked as well as they used to be when you go grocery shopping. As for stocking up don't waste your money on those emergency kits from costco. They taste like shit and really increase the suck factor if you have to survive on them. They also require a ton of water to rehydrate and make palatable. Similarly MRE's/IMP's are fine for a little while but ask anyone who's been in the military who has had to live off them on a field ex the types of shits they had to take afterwards. If you do legit plan to stock up just buy a little extra of what you normally do on a grocery run. Buying a bag of rice? pick up an extra one. Spam on sale? pick up a couple extra cans. Buy your spices/sauces in bulk? pick up a bit extra. Etc. Just make sure to cycle your stuff by putting the newest stuff at the back and eating the oldest stuff first. Also pack away some alternatives to food/items you commonly cook with. Powdered milk (available at costco) if your culture cooks with dairy alot. Grab an extra tub/bag of protein powder if you're a gym guy. As for supplies to cook with? Most asian houses have one of those table top hot pot stoves that burn butane canisters. Snag a few extra packs of gas when theyre on sale to get you by when the power goes out. Lastly something to protect your shit with. As a generalization people say that we're 9 meals from anarchy. I could probably go 3 days without eating and be a grumpy fuck but I could never imagine making my kids go through the same thing. People will get desperate in desperate times and will fuck with your shit and try to take it if they can. I dunno where I was going with this but all I can say is the world's gonna get alot worse before it gets better. |
I honestly haven't been following this very closely. Can someone give me coles notes as to why Netanyahu is to blame for this? |
Iran calls this a retaliatory attack. Back a while back ago (I forget when), US hit Iran's consulate in Syria, Damascus, killing some Iranian generals. From CBS news: Iran and one of its key proxies vowed Tuesday to respond to a strike widely attributed to Israel that demolished Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus and killed 13, including two Iranian generals. Secondly, I think they are standing up for Hamas in Gaza, they have always been an ally to them and Palestinians in Gaza. They were sick and tired of this bully Israel bombing the hell out of the Gaza strip. There is obviously history, many layers, but the above I think are the triggering events as of late. It is Netanyahu's personal mission to eliminate Hamas and Palestians in Gaza. From the news, he is getting lots of push back from Israelies ... but as someone said, war has a way keeping someone in power. Diverting the attention away from his shitty leadership. Compromise or finding a way to live peacefully with Palestinians is not an option for Netanyahu. |
Stonks crash Monday? |
Man I don’t wanna go to work on Monday. Guarantee we gonna haven meetings regarding this shit and expected drops in volume. |
They say they intercepted 99% of the missiles.. here's several of them getting by the defense |
Religion bringing people together again |
Biden "...we helped Israel take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles." "Tomorrow, I will convene my fellow G7 leaders to coordinate a united diplomatic response to Iran’s brazen attack." https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GLF_HDeXgAAXOvJ.jpg |

These Iranians must have known this attack wouldn’t inflict major damage. Even for an opening volley of a wider war it seems a bit idiotic to send shit that takes “hours” to reach your target…. I don’t get it. Not sure what their play is here. Also not certain what the Israeli response will be in retaliation to this fireworks show |
I wonder if it is to show the world the hypocrisy ... Iran sends a few drones, with no serious intent to do any damage, signalled it hours ahead, and the international response is 'widespread condemnation'. But what about Israel's non-stop bombing of innocent Palestinians in Gaza for the last 5 months causing near total destruction of buildings and like > 30K people dead. |
So, Israel destroyed one of their consulate buildings, shouldn’t a retaliation be totally understandable? |
Weird ... Iran announced that that was it, end of attack. They've retaliated for the strike on the consulate in Syria. |

And then Iran can say -- oh, we've done everything we can, but our weapons are not strong enough to penetrate the Israel / US defence. By their very nature, drones also can't carry all that heavy a payload. So even in the unlikely event that the attack struck its target, it can't cause too much damage. At this point, Iran should be pretty weak economically. Sanctions have really hit them hard over the years, and there is a lot of internal turmoil from its citizens against the regime, esp towards the IRGC. At this point, even if Iran were to go into a war, it is questionable whether its citizens would support the war effort. |
