Was never in the correct income bracket anyways, but erks me nonetheless... How many people buy the GTS for the speed, and how many buy it for the driving engagement....

The new "base" model actually took a number of important 992.1 GTS parts, so can I just close my eyes and tell myself that the 992.2 base = 992.1 GTS?
Porsche actually pulled the same trick with the 981 to 718 transition too -- the 718 base car used a bunch of parts there were from the 981 S car, and their performance were similiar.
Hilarious that people (successfully) called for the removal of the MGU-H in F1 engines since it's not "road car relevant" and "too complex and costly".
Word is that none of the non-GT 911 products in 2025 will have manuals available - likely to return but I imagine it'll be extra cost now and available on even fewer trims (probably just the T or S trims).

The way they phrased it is that hybrid is implemented in a way that manual is not physcially possible??? unless you just forego that 50hp/110ftlb of torque in the pdk box?
Or that's just marketing speak.
lololol I don't know enough, so please someone with an engineering background chime in~~~

this is a pretty good "explain like i'm five" from savagegeese (Jack)
I finally watched the SG video. I was thinking of getting a GTS before, but I think a new one is out of question with this.
I want a stick but it's PDK only, I'll think about it again when they decide to make a manual.
The missing gauge cluster is unacceptable. I hear what they want to do with it but I want the gauges. This isn't my family SUV, it's an emotional purchase.
And like asian_XL said, that grille is.... It's not quite BMW lung grille level of abomination, but it's weird.
^it looks the same bloody shit as all 991+ generation of beetles. lazy ass germans. OHHH IT HAS TO LOOK LIKE HERR HITLERS CAR! thats history.... psshhhh WEAK
This brand is so full of douche bags now. Anyone with a modern day Porsche can blow me.
Only now? I can't remember what year I was briefly at that Porsche dealership grand opening (2012? 2013?) but it was the douchiest thing I've ever experienced.

Douche factor aside, I did drive my friend's GT3 in Alberta... and while I can easily say that there's no way I'd pay $350k+ for a car unless I was on a Forbes list, it was an amazing machine... and driving the Supra around, I can't help but feel like it's "final form" so-to-speak at least for me is a 911 Carrera S... don't need a GTS or a Turbo or a whatever special edition... but a simple manual Carrera S in an interesting colour scheme.
I'd just have to never hang out with any other owners if I had one hahaha!
Folks with the local PCA chapter (CWR) are a class act. I can't ever remember a time when there were any douchebags among them. And then of course there were their organized efforts in working with the 3 big luxury dealership groups during the VI era to basically give a polite FU to the VPD about their abuse of power.
It was a big mix at the Weissach meet form what I saw and who I talked to... approachable guys with older 911's or some of the special RUF one-offs and the rally group at one end, etc... but most of the guys with high priced newer cars were pretty douchey.
Like every group, you'll have a mixed bag of outgoing people and of course, your sweater-tied-behind-the-back guys with their linen shirts and Ferragamo loafers doing their thing.
You just need to find your niche within the community. I've met a lot of amazing people through the PCA clubs throughout the years, but the best is Revscene.

In my (limited) experience the Boxster guys are always either super friendly and chill or they bought it just to be able to say they have a Porsche.
