see how heathy the front line goalies are this year if we even see Silovs on the ice..

as a back up goalie that's real money.

Especially at a time where it looks like goalie contracts are on the rise again. For a bit of time there goalie contracts were getting lower especially as teams starting doing more tandems.

Yah I seen some rumors that Shesterkin is looking for $12M a year?!

Tim Budong 07-17-2024 07:47 PM

love the Silovs signing
the team has 2 backup goalies to give Demko some rest.

That's pretty wild. Looking at the highest paid goalies in the league Carey Price and Segei Bobrovsky at 10.5 and 10 respectively but those are old contracts and crazy overpayment even at the time. If you look at the next 3 which are more recent you've got Vasilevskiy, Hellebuyck, and Sorokin at 9.5, 8.5 and 8.25 and that should be closer to the bar that has been set for the tier 1 goalies.

Looking forward to his 120+ point season. woot woot

68style 07-18-2024 01:57 PM

The thing I'm worried about is 120+ point regular season, 5 point PP and 2nd assist only playoffs

Always this, I rather a cool 1 point per game for 80-90 points but being hot in the playoffs. Hopefully, it's a one off and he has gained the experience to be much better next time. The time is now we don't have much time to fuck around .

spoon.ek9 07-18-2024 07:35 PM

I still think of his performance in the bubble playoffs. I'm confident he can be that player again (if not even better).

teggy604 07-19-2024 02:11 PM

Canucks have only 3 fwds that are right shot. The rest are all left shot fwd. lol.

Is he a centre? He only took 31 faceoffs all of last year for 48%

whitev70r 07-24-2024 04:58 PM

Stan Bowman is the new GM of the Oilers. Hmmm ....

MarkyMark 07-24-2024 08:07 PM

Even more of a reason to be happy Edmonton didn't win the cup, what a trash organization.

68style 07-25-2024 07:45 AM

So we just need Quenneville and MacIsaac to get hired by new teams and everyone involved in that coverup/scandal will have a job in the NHL again.

Lovely.

mb_ 07-25-2024 02:40 PM

Lol reading some comments on social media trying to justify the hiring by saying "everyone makes mistakes"

Covering up a sexual assault is not a mistake

bobbinka 07-25-2024 04:35 PM

Evander Kane, Corey Perry, Stan Bowman, who's next? the 5 guys from the World Junior team? Lucic?

Teriyaki 07-25-2024 04:50 PM

Edmonton on their way to collect all the infinity stones of garbage.

Hondaracer 07-25-2024 05:01 PM

The funny thing is like.. Bowman was kinda a trash GM too, the radio this morning they were kinda looking at “his” moves prior to leaving the hawks and almost none of them worked out

So not only did you take on all the controversy of the hire, you got an at best, average GM

tbf...and not judging the guy's past mistake
The oilers could use someone like Carter Hart lmao

murd0c 07-26-2024 01:01 PM

If the Oilers signed Hart they would prob win a cup...
