Here's an idea to try to get Petey going. Why does Tocchet and his coaching staff not put Petey on the point on powerplays?
EP40 has a wicked one timer of a slapshot. He needs to use his slapshot more in order to generate scoring chances. I know that Hronek also has a strong slapshot.
Perhaps put Petey and Hronek on different power play units so that you have a point man with a strong one timer for each unit.
Petey's wrist shot velocity is way down from peak and I haven't seen him take a one-timer in like a year. That's nevermind his agility is way down over what we've seen in the past.
On the point you’ve gotta be able to dish the puck instantly or take the shot without cradling/hesitation like Hronek and Hughes do
Petey has caught what Boeser used to annoyingly have where you’ve gotta cradle the puck upon receiving it before taking a shot, if they restructured the PP entirely it might work but I feel like he’d be inneffextive in its current form

If Petey wasn't the Canucks "superstar" he would have been a healthy scratch a long time ago. Benching him would put more heat on Allvin and JR than Petey. lol.
Petey is responsible defensively though, he’s also just starting this contract
Rick Hockey isn’t a Torts that tries to push buttons and fuck with people, even someone like Petey, as long as he isn’t a liability to the system as a whole, he isn’t getting sat or scratched

Petey def isn't getting scratched, he's sharp defensively and he'd have way more assists if his wingers finished more... Hoagie got fuckin robbed a couple times this road trip.
Lalji is saying that Miller called Petey a baby after their whacking session.
Miller is the kind of guy that gives tough love. Petey probably just not used to it and needs to be coddle more as with most Gen Zs. Lalji was saying if that was Miller way to get Petey going, it might not be the best strategy. What Miller needs to do is give him a big hug. lol.
