it almost seems like the team is taking last year's success for granted. they aren't playing that hardnosed game that got them wins. i suppose it's human nature to relax a bit when you feel like you're a good team but dammit, they need to shake their heads and get back to playing how they should. playoffs don't just fall into your lap in this league. |
They lost Big Z and Lindholm. I think last year team was better. Plus Petey was making $7.3M. Now that he makes $11.6M he takes more of the pie, but he is not performing to expectations. Canucks should take advantage of these few years when Quinn is still making his current contract, because his next one is going to eat a big chunk of the salary cap as well. |

100 percent. I don't see this team showing the same hunger to win games every night. No consistency in their play in their home games. These players are soft like Charmin toilet paper when they play at home. -playing way too comfortable at home. 6-1 record on the road. 2-3-3 record at home. Turnovers and poor defensive coverage. The lack of shots during the Islanders game is a big indicator of how much effort this team is showing now. https://vancouver.citynews.ca/2024/1...-inconsistency Tocchet made these points to reporters after their loss to the Islanders: “I apologize to the fans,” Vancouver Canucks coach Rick Tocchet told reporters Thursday night. “We’re not playing good enough at home. It’s on me. Guys played light tonight. I thought we were ready to go; we weren't. It’s on me. I’ve got to get this team to play harder in the first periods. Spurts here and there, but not enough from a lot of guys. So, got to go practise tomorrow and go right back to the drawing board.” With winger Dakota Joshua returning from cancer and rookie Jonathan Lekkerimaki scoring his first National Hockey League goal, the Canucks had reasons to be inspired Thursday night at Rogers Arena. They weren’t. We’re too light of a team,” he said, referring to the Canucks’ tendency at home to evaporate in front of their checks. “You can not guess where the puck goes (on the forecheck). You don’t have to kill people, you don’t have to ram guys through the boards, even though every once in a while I wouldn’t mind it. I’d rather a guy just stay in front of a guy. That’s your man. We’re just spinning off (people). It’s got to stop. That’s really what it comes down to. “It’s a frustrating situation because the fans are (paying), what is it, two, three, five hundred bucks. . . and we’re throwing some duds at them. So I apologize to the fans again. We’ve got to correct this.” |
Meh. Its not like the fans were born yesterday. Fans willing to spend $500 a ticket know Exactly what they are paying for. lol. |
McJesus gets 1000 points 5th fastest of any player ever. 4th fastest player though. 1 and 2 are both held by Gretzky lol. Also I'm seeing a bunch of people on Twitter saying they should get refunds from the canucks game. If I got refunds when my team lost I could buy another e30. |
If I got a refund for every garb game I ever went to I’d have a P car |
That's a lifelong canucks fan lol. Losses could buy you a gt3rs even with the market adjustment |
Could buy Porsche AG itself if compensation for pain and suffering were factored in. https://media0.giphy.com/media/v1.Y2...oqQ/giphy.webp |
https://canucksarmy.com/news/roberto...couver-canucks -Luongo actually wanted to accept the contract extension with Florida, but by the time he called Mike Keenan, the trade to Vancouver was already done. -After Luongo was traded to Van, and before a new contract extension was offered by Van, Detroit had offer sheeted him. He didn't accept it, and he didn't know it yet, but it would actually have been significantly more money than what Van ended up extending him for. Damn, we were very close to not having Luo |

-former team captain during the GM Mike Gillis years. It was the dirtbag Tortorella who snubbed Luongo by not letting him play in the Heritage Classic game in 2014. I don't blame Lu for demanding a trade to Florida after what Torts did to him. |

His third goal of the season! |
Bedard with another braindead giveaway in his zone, once again not punished |
Petey evens it up with the garbo bank goal off the defender's skates in an attempted cross pass! |
Brannstrom! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
The Brannchise with 2 goals in 3 games :awwyeah: |
Imagine if the Blackhawks were a tiny bit better than they are... monkaS |
Good Guys win! But it was pretty close. Good back and forth game, but the Hawks have no finish whatsoever |
wow bedard lol. poor kid playing in his hometown |
Aside from getting a goal tonight, I'm really liking the Brannstrom acquisition. My second favorite new guy after Chief Kief. He looks like a Hughes lite lol. Wonder why it didn't work out for him in Ottawa. |
poor Bedard, he should request a trade to his favourite team :troll: |

Bring him home |
Bédard isn’t a generational talent like he was so often touted to be imo Honestly I think history will show a player like Eichel a better player then Bédard in the end |
