he was called up today with Forbort going onto IR I believe? wasn't likely he'd make the lineup for tonight but it remained a possibility.

Tocchet bluntly explained his benching of Miller in the third period.
100 percent not related to injury.
Here’s what Canucks’ head coach Rick Tocchet had to say regarding the benching: “I just went with the guys that I thought could get us back in the game.”
Tocchet gave a blunt “No” when asked if his benching had to do with any sort of injury

Be careful, Tochet in trying to make an example, that's the beginning of tense coach-player relations.

Miller is our top guy and is doing way better than Petey. Its like a few week ago he called out Hogs and he stop shortly after saying Petey name. But Petey was also on that line, and if anything the top paid player.

Cuz Miller was barely moving his feet and watching the puck the entire penalty kill when they got scored on… he even at one point started to give directions to Petey who was actually all over the ice hounding the Nashville PP

100 percent. I agree that Tocchet's old school way of getting players to improve their play should be done consistently for all players if they are not playing well.
If Petey messes up in a game, turns the puck over to the opposition that leads to a goal, and does nothing in multiple shifts, then Tocchet has to bench Petey to send him a message.
The same goes for Miller.
Maybe a gen Z guy like Petey doesn't respond well to getting benched? He needs a hug for encouragement?

on a side note, Lekkerimaki has played 4 games, with 1 point and a -3. Looks like his abby stats and what 68 style pointed out earlier.

Yah Lekk needs to marinate and do what Bains did last summer... get stronger
Bains isn't that great but I definitely notice he isn't getting pushed off the puck this year like he was last year... if Lekk can do the same thing with his body and having way more highend skill/vision than Bains he will be a force next year.
