Something is really off mentally with this team, the body language and communication is terrible.
The truth is our system sucks. It depends the other team playing worse than us along the boards and we have to grind out the goals. We win with DeBrusk picking up garbage at the front but when we play a team with skill we're extremely exposed as disjointed and those chances are few and far between. I'll be critical of Tocc's style until he's gone
Several reliable sources... ie: Friedman and Biz are now saying publicly that Miller and Petey can't co-exist and managing their rift and the dressing room is a full time job now.
This season is a bust unless those 2 can pull it together. No idea what happened between them that was so severe it can't be overcome, but when names that big in the field start saying there's fire behind the smoke it seems like there's something to it.

We were 6th overall in the whole league last year I don’t think our system is at fault.
Asked if it's possible to keep Demko and Lanks together. Answer was yes, need good goaltending to win. Will look at spending more money on goaltending than somewhere else.
Rutherford took a subtle shot at Tocchet after the 5-1 loss to the Bruins:
We're in the middle of playing a lot of games... so we get a lot of days off." Rutherford said, "We didn't practice yesterday, we've had a couple of other home games when we didn't practice, and we didn't play well. We have some adjustments to make, obviously, but they're fixable, but we better fix them quick 'cause you can't be a playoff team with a record like we have at.”
Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford was also in attendance watching today's practice according to Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide: Vancouver.
When it came time for line rushes, Rick Tocchet decided to make some drastic changes to his lines and defensive pairings from last night's loss
J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser stayed together, moving up to the top line where they're joined by Conor Garland, who spent last night's game on the third line.
Today's second line consisted of Jake DeBrusk, Elias Pettersson and Max Sasson, the latter of whom scored his first NHL goal against Boston.
Danton Heinen, Pius Suter and Kiefer Sherwood were on the third line, while the fourth line consisted of Dakota Joshua, Teddy Blueger and Nils Hoglander.

"3 yr window to win here" by JR. So what's after that "3 yr window?"

Scorched earth. We'll have an older core and no picks or prospects.
Adding - A potential miller trade intrigues me. We could get younger with the right move, although it will be difficult to replace what Miller brought to the table for 8m.
We could also trade Boeser. He's a 27YO UFA asking 8m+.
He has not been healthy enough or consistent enough to get 8M. When you look at Garland performance compared to Boeser in the last few yrs, i don't think he deserves almost double Garland. Yet Garland brings it every game hence why coach loves him so much. He is overplaying his contract like Hughes. Not to mention it leaves us more money to bring in support players.
