Yah, what do you trade for the rights? Like a 5th or 6th round pick? Or 10 bags of pucks and 50 carbon sticks?
I think the chances are good that he'll sign there, he is familiar with Treliving from Calgary. And plus, who wouldn't want to play in Toronto ...  .

Trading rights just means you can negotiate with them before July 1. There are multiple instances where the player didn't sign. Unfortunately though, it sounds like Tanev will sign with the fucking Leafs. Hate it.

There's actually some speculation that Guentzel might be hesitating to sign in Tampa. Aging core and closing window to win. Tampa is definitely aging despite having some top notch players. Either way, we'll find out tmrw what happens.
Edit: new report saying they've agreed to terms for 7 year contract lol.
