Game is falling apart and there's still 15 minutes left!

Hondaracer 01-23-2025 07:31 PM

Even trading miler ain’t gonna fix this

Boeser is also just kind of optimizing what he’s always been, personally I couldn’t stomach signing him for what they are thinking he might get (8x7, 8x8, etc)

SkinnyPupp 01-23-2025 07:38 PM

Yeah I love Boeser but he is such bait lol

westopher 01-23-2025 07:42 PM

The booing worked I guess.

MarkyMark 01-23-2025 08:09 PM

Doing nothing seemed to work for Buffalo too

Harvey Specter 01-23-2025 08:10 PM

Here we go again with another rebuild.

I also read that the Canucks have had just one sellout this season. Combine that with the weak Canadian dollar, and things aren’t looking good for ownership.

HonestTea 01-23-2025 08:25 PM

I bet a lot of people rushed to get season tickets after last years run.

I believe there's a waiting list.

Looks like the Oilys did it. Winning without the good Connor :troll: :troll:

I enjoyed this redemption story. A good side dish to my Big Mac-David!

As much as I like the guy I feel the same way. Would hate to see him go but I would lose it if we had him on the books long term for like 8 mill. He won't ever be a guy who drives a line and is a complimentary piece on a good line and sure I guess with the cap going up and current contracts a person making $8mill are no longer necessarily guys who drive a line anyway. To me, his contract is your typical trap where teams have a player who's not a star but he's good and because you have dibs to sign them you do it anyway because better that then losing them for nothing, I say don't do it. This season won't be saved or at least I highly doubt it. Need to seriously consider trading him at the deadline if we could if this keeps up.

This team, especially a few core group of players like Petey and Miller, is not showing any heart to play for this franchise.

The only exceptions in terms of performance this season are Captain Quinn and Lankinen. These two players have played well consistently.

https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...he-heart-gone/

The team is on life support now.
-looks to me that many players do not want to play for the Canucks now.

Hondaracer 01-24-2025 01:11 PM

Petey is probably them most aggravating Of them all

When you look at someone like Garland who’s skating his ass off sure that’s not Peteys game, but Jesus fucking Christ man, show some pushback. Guy is a giant fucking pussy and basically seems like he’s in depression mode whether it be from all the miller shit or what.

It’s like an workplace, you don’t have to like it, but for fuck sake man you’re getting paid 9 mill, one of the top paid players in the league and this is how you bring it on a night to night basis? Fucking step up man

It totally sucks that we finally have a Norris-winning (winning, not calibre) defenseman and yet the rest of the team is in shambles...

Last season: everything went right
This season: everything went wrong

sonick 01-24-2025 01:42 PM

Trump back in the white house, Tony DeAngelo back in the NHL

bobbinka 01-24-2025 05:53 PM

Wow, Colorado trades Rantanen to Carolina

Makes sense rumour was he wanted like 14 mill? Cut your losses Necas is a beast and younger by a hair but more importantly makes 6.5 for this year and next.

Hondaracer 01-24-2025 07:28 PM

Trade Miller to Av’s

Him and a McKinnon would be a formidable duo

What a blockbuster trade for Colorado and Carolina.

You'd think the NHL would try to expand its reach beyond its current demographic and lift its TV ratings out of the gutter, but nope.

68style 01-24-2025 10:34 PM

Canucks done fucked up… that puts the Canes out of Miller contention. Jo competing offers / deals / laces Miller wil waive to = no more options.

bobbinka 01-24-2025 11:20 PM

Friedman says Canes had 2 offers on the table today, 1 for JT, and 1 for Petey.

We also know that Canes had said no to giving us Necas. Obviously, for Rantanen that's a different story.

From all the bits we've heard, any JT trade would be massively underwhelming. I also dont think any trade would change anything for the team this year. I say let them play it out and deal with it in the off season. Maybe they decide to grow up and work it out.

Hondaracer 01-24-2025 11:29 PM

Or at the very least you wait till the deadline. Everyone overpays at the deadline

68style 01-25-2025 07:13 AM

Don't forget Horvat was a first rate centre when we traded him, and we have nearly fuck all to show for it 4 years later.

We got Beauvillier (useless -- walked), Raty (can't stick in the NHL), and a first round pick that we then gave away the first round pick for Hronek.

So basically we traded Horvat + a second round pick for Hronek and a 4th. GG.

Also, fun fact, Detroit used that pick to select Axel Sandin Pellika 17th overall, who's a RIGHT SHOT defenceman that already won the SHL best d-man award and looks like an absolute stud... got 4 goals and 6 assists in just 7 games as a dman in the 2025 WJC. He is kinda small though, 5'11" 185.

unit 01-25-2025 07:17 AM

every year the heinens invite us to their vendor appreciation night in their box. they are one of our bigger customers, they run a pretty successful greenhouse company. first year that danton is a canuck so it should be pretty cool, but tonight is almost a guaranteed loss with the state of the team and the caps being the best in the league. at least i'll see ovi play once before he retires.
