They actually looked like a team playing together. D. Petey played really well. Big hits and definitely isnt scared to throw down. Coincidence that they are playing for one another instead of individuals after Miller left?
Even with Miller gone, you still have EP40. He is also 50 percent of the problem. And I rather off load him than to deal with his spoiled, baby attitude which can be a real problem next yr when he is fully in control.

I agree. Im okay with trading him as long as the return is good.
I see names floating around like Dylan Cozens and Josh Norris, but when i look them up i see that they're making between 7 to 8 mil a year and they've cracked the 50 or 60 point mark once in their careers.
We just lost a 100 point guy who was making 8mil and we're going to trade our other 100 point guy? I don't see other teams offering up their proven 100 point guy to trade for an underperforming Petey.
If the trade is for players with "potential", then that's a rebuild/retool based on hope that it'll turn out well, and i don't see Hughes sticking around for that.
I think Peterson is probably the better overall player but doesn’t have some of the intangibles that Z had. Either way makes the trade look a lot better because of the signing

Excellent signing imo. M. Pettersson is a much better defender than Big Z. We all loved Zadorov's snarl and intimidation factor but as proven in Boston, he can be a big liability (penalties, etc) when at his worst. With the cap going up almost 10M per year for the next 3 years, 5.5M cap hit is an amazing deal for the team.
MP is that calming veteran presence the Canucks needed on the blue line, when I saw the signing last night I was really surprised how good of a deal it was. That alone changed the entire D and made the Miller trade look that much better.

not a coincidence at all. it's a huge weight off of the team's shoulders. i think the players all loved Miller for what he was, but it had gone on too long and it was time to move on for everyone's sake.
if you haven't already, you should watch this interview with Buble. he shares some insight into what he's seen as a fan but also as someone who is tight with the team and management.

I don't see Hughes sticking around while EP40 has full control of his rights and underperforming. Just wait, and the next clash is EP40 and Hughes.
what a penalty shot by DOC! new blood really does a team well. can you imagine this team two weeks ago without Hughes? everyone has been stepping up, even if it hasn't looked great most of the time lol.
