Seeing the sad faces of the Laffs fans at the game today. Haha Today was a good day. |
Nothing better than seeing a crowd full of sad Laffs fans who buy up half the arena just to watch them fail again and again, even against a not great Canucks team |
Rick Tocchet on Demko: Something happened during the game. I don't think it's that serious from early reports. It's not the knee. #Canucks @Sportsnet650 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

first b2b home game wins of the season woo |
Did Lankinen's value just go up again? Demko just can't seem to stay healthy... I wonder how much it would take to re-sign Lankinen though... at his age, his next contract is going to be his last shot to make bank in the NHL. I can't see him taking a discount or being paid backup money when he and other teams are probably willing to take a chance at him being a starter and being paid like one next season. |
^ This guy is probably the No. 1 reason that the Canucks are hovering around a playoff spot at the mid season break point. He bet on himself for a 1 yr contract with Canucks and so far, he's earning a contract I'nm guessing in the $4-5M/yr for 3-4 yr contract. |
That would be a deal, anyone who thinks Demko isn’t almost done in this league at this point with all his injuries is kind of wishful thinking… not for lack of talent he’s a great goalie of course, I don’t think he will be getting another contract after his current one ends. They are both 29 years old, I think the Canucks transition to Lank and develop from within… Tolopilo has looked really good in Abby lately. I just don’t see Demko being more than a 50/50 starter kinda how Boston ran with Swayman and Ullmark last year. |
Yeah I had the same thoughts. As much as I have loved having Demko on our team, his continuous string of injuries are a major concern for our long term goals here. Hate to say it but we may need to move on from him after his contract is done. But of course, with our luck he'll sign in the east and be healthier than ever due to less travel lol. |
The Official 2024/2025 Canucks & NHL Thread Hughes is not playing in the Four Nations tournament. Good decision to rest our captain. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...-with-injury/? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Yeah, not worth risking his health for a pretty meaningless tournament. GG ratings. Hughes out, Crosby out (I believe). Probably more notable injuries that I've forgotten about. |
Two games at 10am, the rest at 5pm. 1 Saturday and the rest are weekdays. So, I guess only people out east get to watch? Quote:

I am hyped for this 4 nations game. Watching McDavid, MacKinnon, Marner and Makar on a PP will be insane |

Hows the game so far? Is it like All-star game vibes or more like Olympics? |
Definitely not like the all-star game they are actually trying |
It’s so tight checking though… definitely need the international size ice surface to see more skill |

Awesome game so far. Plenty of ridiculous talent out there but, man, Crosby is such a great player. |
Marner scores in OT! Canada beats Sweden! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
