Toch said in interviews at the beginning of the season that Petey came in excellent shape, so I think that was debunked, especially given that Toch is a fitness freak. Anyway, it's ride or die. If you trade Petey, you're definitely sending the wrong message to Hughes, and if Hughes leaves, the franchise will be a bottom feeder for 5 to 8 years. I think the best thing for everybody is if Petey just stops doing media scrums/interviews like Hronek. |

I think the Canucks are right where they belong. Between a rock and a hard place. Not good enough to make the playoffs? And also not shitty enough to get a high draft pick. lol. |

He has 9 points in 8 games with the Rangers though |
I still keep wondering what is it about Vancouver. We seem to always have so much drama as a team, players regularly have bad comments about being here, what is it exactly? Is it the media market, is it ownership and personnel, is it the soullessness of Vancouver as a city? It's all so fascinating to me, players just don't seem to want to be here, or when they come, they leave miserably as we run them out of town. WTF is it. |
Maybe because they get taxed through the roof playing for a Canadian team. |
If taxes are the issue all of them will not re-sign here or demand a trade to the States. JT Miller stated he love playing here, as did the Sedins, Meyers, Tanev etc... |
I think the media makes Vancouver a really toxic place to play for. And since we don’t have another major sports team, you’ll be the center of attention any time you’re in public so that’s another thing to deal with. |
But its not just Vancouver. You look at the Maple Laughs. For 7 years they had 4 top guys getting paid 10M+ and they couldn't even make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Then you have the Oilers. Even the "Hockey God" with Draisaitl can't "will" their way to a cup. So the only way Canada wins a Stanley Cup is if "Team Canada" all play for one Canadian NHL team and everyone takes a pay cut. lol. |
Canucks luck is just terrible... You'd think just last season, they looked pretty decent with the right core pieces filled in the respective areas to be a contender, but everything just collapsed very suddenly. From two ppg (or "100pt") centers, Vezina caliber goalie, to now missing all of that. JT Miller wanted out and was mentally checked out EP40 is still playing like a 3/4th liner after a full calendar year with no explanation Demko is cooked and his career is in jeopardy All 3 are massive losses and not something any GM could have predicted. Miller won't be a role that can easily be filled via trades. EP40 is looking like the next Huberdeau. Demko, even when healthy again, is a ticking time bomb. I'm not confident he'll be able to play a full 7 game series again, nevermind the entire playoffs. Would really help if Boeser's last season was not an anomaly, even though we all probably knew it was. He's not a legit 40 goal player. He's more like a 25 goal / 60 pt winger that is unable to drive play on his own. GM needs to make the right move on this trade. |
It's tough to win in pro sports. When a team is good for a long time, it is insanely against the odds and highly improbable. |
There’s enough parity in this league that any team has a 3% chance of winning the whole thing every year. Of course there are outliers to start a season like the Blackhawks where they’re not even trying to put a decent team together… but it’s pretty tough to put it together at the right time and keep that intensity level up to march through the playoffs. No other league has anywhere near as intense a postseason as the NHL does. |
# Goals in 2025 Elias Pettersson: 1 Ilya Sorokin: 1 |
Wow Sorokin’s shooting percentage is undefined: 1 goal on 0 shots! |
How is Nashville SO shitty ?? .. how is that even possible with all those names on the roster? Forsberg, Josi, O'Reilly, Nyquist, Schenn, Stamkos ... |
The Official 2024/2025 Canucks & NHL Thread A trade between the Panthers and Chicago: Another veteran is on his way out of Chicago. The Blackhawks traded defenceman Seth Jones to the Florida Panthers for goalie Spencer Knight and a first-round pick in either 2026 or 2027, the teams announced on Saturday. The Blackhawks will also send a 2026 fourth-round pick to Florida and retain approximately 26 per cent of Jones' contract, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Bad trade for the Panthers. They get a 30 year old Jones with declining production and injuries. 27 points in 42 games for Jones this season. The 2026 draft class is going to be one of the deepest drafts in years. Florida gave up their first round pick in 2026 haha. This is a good trade for Chicago. They get a decent goalie and a first round pick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I agree Boeser is not a 40 goal scorer and is a 60 point guy at most. Looks like EP40 is not on PP1. Got demoted to PP2. |
So far Petey has 1 block and 2 hits on the night. He’s turning into our Scott Gomez. |

Petey also took a bad penalty in the Seattle zone. Kraken score a goal about 3 seconds after their power play ended. No pushback from these Canucks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
With 14 mins left. EP40 might be zeros again. Makes me wonder is he sucking on purpose so no team wants him. And Canucks are stuck with him. Lol |
Why is Hughes sitting on the bench for the entire end of the game? Hurt again? |

Tomlinson mentioned that Hughes was stretching his abs on the bench. He missed 6 games because of an oblique muscle injury. Aggravated the oblique injury? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Looks like Aquaman is raising ticket prices again for next season. lol |
