Just tuned in for 2nd period and Petey looks better than he has all season |
In case anyone missed it. It's been a while... |
The Official 2024/2025 Canucks & NHL Thread Quote:
Petey is not the soft Swede that you think he is as a hockey player. Miller better keep his head up when the Canucks play the Rangers. EP40 is know for his reverse hits using his back on players. JT is the bitch if you ask me. There were posts on this thread about Miller yapping at coach Tocchet and the video coach after one game. Tocchet was showing Miller how to correct his mistakes of multiple turnovers of the puck in a game. Miller talked back at Tocchet and grabbed the video coach’s tablet. He threw the tablet across a room. The owner Aquilini heard about this incident. Big boss wanted Miller off the team. If a player like Miller is not coachable and shows such disrespect to two coaches who are trying to improve his defensive game, that player is off the team. Who is the bitch? Miller! Yeah, Petey does find the Vancouver media annoying. He made those comments. However, he owned up to those comments in an interview this week. He apologized for the comments. He took responsibility for his bad performance this season when he talked to reporters. -telling the media that he holds himself accountable. He played a much better game against Minnesota. I think that Petey let a big weight off his shoulders with his game last night, scoring a goal, and being very honest with reporters with week by talking about his subpar season. Let’s see how Petey plays in the last 20 or some games before we judge this player. This season is far from over the Canucks. The team is right in the hunt for a playoff spot. It’s gonna take more than a clapper goal to get me back on the Petey bandwagon. My main problem though is that this was another game we should have lost. Granted didn’t watch it cuz I was busy, but just looking at the stats you can’t expect your goalie to bail you out like that and have so much puck luck. 9/10 gtimes we lose that game with the shots and zone time I saw. This team even when it wins can be quite mediocre. |
Apparently, Rantanen was interested in going to Edmonton, but they didn't have the assets to get the trade done. What a nightmare that would've been.... |
It will be a good game tomorrow. Dallas playing tonight, so Canucks have a good chance to take advantage of a tired stars team. |

Mostly just Lyubushkin lol |
Thought on Mitch Marner signing in Vancouver? Is he worth the money? Replacement for Boeser. |
No thx, don't need another 160lb guy that gets pushed over in tough games and coughs the puck up being too fancy... he literally cost TML the game yesterday against Colorado, was watching the 3rd period while at the gym and he took the penalty that led to the go ahead goal after dangling at the blueline and getting stripped of the puck. |
I think he's a talented forward but remains a question mark when in the playoffs. That's me being nice because I think most Leafs fans will tell you his game completely disappears when it matters most in the post season. |
He's probably one of the most purely offensively talented players in the entire league in my opinion... but when the going gets tough he sure doesn't. Even Nylander was bitching him out on the bench last year's playoffs. |
"stop crying bro" I remember that lol |
First goal for Forbort! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Revenge of Casey Desmith ... |
EP40 with zeros across the board. Canucks are a long way from being a contender. |
exactly why we should have been sellers |
^exactly. Suter could have got us a decent return. Donnie and Dhali said most likely Canucks wanted to keep him for a playoff push. |
I read some reports saying management wanted a 1st rounder for Boeser and no one was offering that. Ditto Suter, whatever it was they were asking was not on the table from other teams. Now, this could all be bs and them covering their own butts but who knows. If we lose Brock for absolutely nothing, that's 100% a management fail. Even if a 2nd rounder ++ was the best they could do, they should have done it. |
2nd rounder is better than losing him or spending $8M a season on him. In some ways maybe mgmt is being evil and using this to devalue him? Who knows... I find it had to believe a 1st rounder wasn't out there to be had with the Canucks retaining salary and fuckin Anthony Beauvillier getting a 2nd in trade. Canucks GM seems really, really lousy at marketing our tradeable players. |
doesn't help when they publicly shit on their own players |
Boeser is slow and he doesn't gel with anyone except Miller. Usually how he score his goal is being at the right place at the right time. He doesn't drive play, doesn't hit, doesn't fight, and if he is on your shift, you are most likely getting scored on. I rather take like 3 Kiefer Sherwoods at 1.5M AAV than 1 Boeser at 8M. lol. |
except he's currently $6.65M and just last season scored a hatty in the playoffs lol. as a rental, he would be a welcome addition for any team looking for a sniper. plus, if we had retained some salary it would have been even more enticing. this team ain't winning shit. |
Tocchet going ballistic at a referee during the game last night against Dallas: Daniel Wagner @passittobulis Rick Tocchet to the refs after the penalties late in the 1st, according to my amateur lip-reading: "Stay out of it! Stay the **** out of it!" "That's why you won't get the ****ing playoffs! Yeah, that's true! That's a stupid ****ing call! That's ****ing stupid!" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
