Reminds me of USA leaving McDavid alone in 4 Nations lol... like how in the world is someone not glued to him and McKinnon at ALL times.

pastarocket 04-02-2025 10:32 AM

Once the playoffs start, I am sure that any opposing team's coaching staff will make sure there is a forward or d-man defending against Ovi whenever No. 8 is on the ice.

It won't be so easy for Ovi to score goals like no. 891 during the post-season haha.

68style 04-02-2025 11:31 AM

Well he's got 72 goals in 151 playoff games... which is not that far off his regular season goal scoring rate, so he knows what to do even in playoff time!

pastarocket 04-02-2025 08:10 PM

Another game for the offensively challenged Canucks.

Let the season finish already and end this misery :okay:

The fat lady has sung.

Is there an official e beside Canucks standings?

AzNightmare 04-02-2025 09:43 PM

Team battling for their life couldn't even score a goal against a team that's already mathematically eliminated. lol.

68style 04-02-2025 09:58 PM

.700 save percentage on the night for Demko too.

Hey at least our draft pick has 3 assists tonight!! Unfortunately he plays for Seattle.

They're still not mathematically eliminated, but it's probably like a 3-5% chance

Not much will change next year lol.

whitev70r 04-03-2025 07:13 AM

So maybe the strategy now is, welp, not going to make it to the dance so let's slide down the standings and get the best draft position as possible :rukidding:

Send the starting lineup to Abbotsford Canucks to give them some playoff experience ... including EP40. Hughes is only one exempted.

spoon.ek9 04-03-2025 07:34 AM

Abby is on an 11 game win streak. We're better off watching them than this team right now.

whitev70r 04-03-2025 07:46 AM

Actually, yah, don't send starters down to Abby Canucks, might ruin their chemistry.

teggy604 04-03-2025 08:55 AM

Yesterday sums up Canucks home games in a nut shell. Fan booing at the end of the 3rd haha. Classic.

spoon.ek9 04-03-2025 09:30 AM

Last year I was happy to spend money on tickets (during season + playoffs). This year: $0 spent lol.

Also glad I never bought a Miller jersey as he was next on my list

sonick 04-03-2025 09:37 AM

My brother in law gave me his vintage black skate Bure jersey at the end of last season...

I have not had a chance to wear it all year lol.

spoon.ek9 04-03-2025 10:02 AM

Can't really blame you, there's been hardly anything to celebrate all season long. Just another wasted year and more proof that progress isn't linear in the NHL.

Which means we will win the cup next year

spoon.ek9 04-03-2025 11:35 AM

one can hope :alonehappy:

fsy82 04-03-2025 03:10 PM

Was at the game yesterday and i dont see why Hughes would want to stay. Hes visibly pissed where during the commercial time out he broke his stick at the bench and slammed the door.

They made the playoff only 3 times since drafting Bo in 2013. I would say they wasted a lot of time. Bo is gone. Only Boeser, Demko,EP40, Hughes are left. And out of the 3 only Hughes shows promise.

RevYouUp 04-03-2025 03:24 PM

I hope we tank for McKenna

Gumby 04-03-2025 03:54 PM

If I was Hughes, with the way things are going, I would not re-sign in Vancouver.

He's UFA after the 2026-27 season.

teggy604 04-03-2025 05:35 PM

^^ for sure. Depends on how badly he wants the money. He can take a pay cut and play with his bros in NJ and be close to home. Dougie Hamilton is their top Dman and he has 4 years before UFA. Hughes can very well be their number 1 Dman.

AzNightmare 04-03-2025 06:42 PM

Just sad if Vancouver loses Hughes.
Even with some bad teams, when they end up drafting a super elite player, they end up sticking around and be the face of the team for long term, but unfortunately, there's just not enough to look forward to on this team. And combined with the fact he also has 2 brothers who he's close with, both playing on the same team.
