Brock says he's not coming back... losing him for nada

Alvin says he won't pick up Tocchet's option without an extension and chose the words "We want a coach who wants to be here" which isn't very flattering...

The turmoil on this team never stops.

I don't feel anything for any player. You get paid millions of dollars to win, and win under pressure. If you can't handle it, take a piece of humble pie and take less money.
During an interview.

Allvin said he wants EP40 to stay in Vancouver to do summer training. However he or the team can't force him to stay, if he wants to go back home to Sweden. Looks like good chance EP40 wont be traded. If he goes back home this summer, he should be traded.

Brawl ensues.

That dive from Perry, he hasn’t lost a step in that part of the game.

No joke, my uncle was a big Canuck fan since he immigrated here in the 70's. But he passed away a couple years ago. Made me realize if it could happen to my uncle, it could happen to me too one day.

I've been following this team since 94. Time flies. Seeing this team lift a cup before I die is no guarantee...

bobbinka 04-11-2025 10:07 PM

You are only allowed to witness the team losing in the cup finals. This is the Canucks way.

What other sport teams do you follow? I can't imagine there's many others as bad as the Canucks. If they are, they probably haven't been around for 55 years.

MAF is in the house ... but he's not starting. :rukidding:

Minny needs every single point with just 3 pts ahead of the Lames.

pastarocket 04-12-2025 09:14 PM

What a damn cheap shot and dangerous punch from the Minnesota player on Forbert!

Both players are on the ice at the end of the fight.

That idiot keeps punching Forbert and puts his head into the ice!

Glad to see the refs throw the book at him. 5 minutes and game misconduct!

teggy604 04-12-2025 09:19 PM

Ya, that was a cheap shot on Forbert. But the hit on Hughes was clean wasn't it?

Caveman Minny player was jawing someone on the way out of box to the tunnel.

whitev70r 04-13-2025 08:29 AM

Do you think the NBA Play in format (before the official playoff) would work in the NHL?

So it goes No. 7 & 8 play, winner advance. Loser plays the winner of No. 9 & 10.

More teams get a chance. Often 7, 8, 9, 10 and separated by like a couple of points. If it was in NHL, Canucks would get at least one 'playoff' game.

spoon.ek9 04-13-2025 09:53 AM

I believe they already discussed this amongst owners and bettman, there is no desire to change the current playoff format. Not saying it wouldn't work, just saying NHL doesn't even want to try lol.

teggy604 04-13-2025 12:58 PM

I rather keep the existing format, instead of relying on one game to determine if they get into playoffs.

Teams get 82 games worth of chances during the regular season.

68style 04-13-2025 01:31 PM

It would be exciting, but unlike basketball the chances for getting injuries are so much higher… 2 teams basically trying to kill each other for the privilege of moving on to a 4 round playoff journey of also killing each other.

bobbinka 04-13-2025 01:33 PM

I feel like 82 is already a lot of games to play before even making it to playoffs. The game is physical and played at high speeds. Just the wear and tear on players is rough.

It'd never happen cause of $$, but i'd like to see a reduction of games, like removing back to back games. Also, remove pre-season, and start the season a month earlier to spread out the games more. Heck, they could even throw in an extra week off for players somewhere in between.

If they were to do a play in format, I hope they reduce the number of season games for it, rather than add to it. But, I don't think the play in format is needed. The fact that there were 12 teams fighting for wild card spots in the last 10 games of the season shows how competitive it is. We don't have half the league riding out the season. The last 10 games were basically the play in for those teams.

spoon.ek9 04-13-2025 02:48 PM

Tocchet reports that Forbort has as broken orbital bone. NHL DoPS is a fucking joke.
