I contemplated a long time thinking if I should put into the good buy thread...
BadHobz reminded me these could be had for $38K at one point... but honestly its $62K asking is pretty fair in today's market given its milage... and... $10,000 worth of claims~

Not sure I'd want to pay that money for a first model year, though. But that's just me.

Maybe in Calgary/Edmonton, but not a Vancouver or BC based example. They are still upwards of $100K.

I'd rather pay the 90k for the 996 turbo over 60k for a 997 and then 30-40k for the impending motor rebuild.
I really want a 997 in a way, but the .1 are honestly pretty bad cars in terms of the issues they come with.
That is a great looking car though.

Honestly it seems the prices in the USA arent as insane as Canada. 40k USD is totally within the realm of affordable if you made a half decent living in the states. Its only in butt fuck Canada that the prices are insane.

Both of those have higher mileage and look not as nice as the local one. Add taxes/duty and travelling and they are just as much. That said, higher mileage cars often fair better because lots of the issues are cars being pushed before oil gets temp.

I don't remember if these were the decent years when they used the Ford motors or not. I know the f type with the super charged V6 had head gasket issues.
These engines were post Ford era, but pretty decent. It's hilarious that the v6 and the v8 use the same block, but with different machine work & heads... great cost conciousness
