Pittsburgh and / Cleveland Doing a road trip there, going to spend 4-5 days there during xmas / Jan break. Any tips? what to do? what to eat? I know nothing so i'm eager to find out what I can do with the family / in laws there. |
Get some Pittsburgh style pizza at Beto's, where they don't cook the toppings https://i.redd.it/16o3ifqfm8rb1.jpg |
We did a road tip to Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Corbin (KY) this summer (not exactly in this order.) I can't say we spent enough time in Pittsburgh but we did visit The Strip district which was quite nice, but I don't know what it'll be like in January. Keep up with your parking there because it is fully enforced by city by-law officers like clockwork. Lots of good food options there, so spend some time Google'ing places to eat and things to do. Cleveland - Similar to Pittsburgh. We didn't spend enough time there. Less than 24 hours. They're famous for a local chain called Skyline Chili (nothing special) but ironically, there only remains one or two in Cleveland. There's enough to do/see/eat in both cities. There's a handful of museums to check out. The drive to Pittsburgh from Cleveland could be either very flat or have rolling hills depending on which route you take, so consider the type of vehicle you take. We took our Corolla iM and managed to take the local state routes which were flat. But from Columbus to Pittsburgh, it was rolling hills, and man, I wished we had a car with bigger displacement engine to keep up with traffic and passing. |
