dark0821 11-09-2024 08:12 AM

^ wait what? Nononononono

I expect almost every single each of you to purchase at least one car off my hands in your lifetimes.... once I make it to Porsche~~~

EvoFire 11-12-2024 12:57 AM

Holy shit it took me 3 days to get through this thread.

I think most of what needs to be said as already been said, but I'm holding you on that "never buying another car" BS cause let's be real you and I and everyone here know it's BS.

When I bought the M3 I knew there was another car on the horizon for me. I just didn't know what it is yet.

Look at my sig. Aside from the E36 M3 that was pennies, nothing was actually purchased because I wanted to, it was a had to thing.

That's why, I'd only buy another car if it got written off. Or I guess if I actually sold the car which I'm coming to terms with alongside other changes I'm considering (moving out of BC/the country).

It's not gonna last 50 years is my point. Even if you don't get the itch of trading it in, you will need to replace it or find something else more reliable down the road. Cars will age, shit breaks. You will get to the same point as the 330 where it's just too expensive to fix and you'll go buy an EV.

AstulzerRZD 11-12-2024 11:11 AM

Low key I went from an EV > X5 > Escalade > Mini Cooper last week - reminded me how simple is literally best sometimes.

I'm happiest in the little Cooper S ripping launch control at every stop light

SkinnyPupp 11-12-2024 02:23 PM

Cooper S is fun. Borrowed my sister's convertible one summer, and it was gay as shit but still fun to drive

Hondaracer 11-12-2024 02:36 PM

As I’ve said before, go blow your load in Vegas. Spend a few G’s driving every one of your dream cars.

There will never be another car you can reasonably purchase that will ever come close to that experience, and odds are, you’ll be let down by the vehicles worth 5, 10, 20 times what you could possibly afford, so you’ll avoid the let down and chase of pursuing a vehicle lol.

100% that’s what happened to me. I’m still a huge car guy and love cars, but after ripping through gears in Aventador, 458, GTR, and ultimately driving some super cars locally (GT2 RS, etc.) I couldn’t even buy a corvette really and be like oh yea.. this hits the spot

I’ve always said that the Porsche car rental program is a fantastic deal for your fair weather enthusiasts. Like from Oct to March my cars are in hibernation anyways so a program like that makes a lot of sense to me.

Rent a month of stupid beetle or a month of Cayman and go nuts. Drive the shit out of it. You’ll still be ahead of owning one of these, and you’ll actually drive it the way they were engineered to be driven.

$4900/mo for a 911 GTS that includes 2500km and insurance. Nice spec too - green with a chalk interior. It's a "bargain" if you can swing it. Book 2 weeks off when you have it and cruise down the coast or do a road trip into the interior.

Badhobz 11-12-2024 04:00 PM

It is a bargain ! Because after about a month of ownership, the fad wears off and you’ll be left with a useless beetle that you barely drive or just occasionally take it to the grocery store.

This is the best of both worlds. You get the experience, none of the headaches of ownership and you literally are gonna drive the tires off it.

EvoFire 11-12-2024 05:46 PM

Now you guys are digging the hole for baws to fall deeper into.

westopher 11-12-2024 05:56 PM

Lol goes from "here's how to be fiscally responsible" to go to Vegas to rent supercars, or rent a Porsche for 5k monthly.

Hondaracer 11-12-2024 06:07 PM

Hey it’s like any addict, you can steer them away from it, but if the addiction is bad enough maybe you can find some lesser evils :lol

GLOW 11-12-2024 07:03 PM

we have to cover all angles and all scenarios Kappa

JDMDreams 11-12-2024 07:11 PM

He just has to go to Vegas double down and win it back

Lolol yeah things really escalated while you were out.

Gerbs 11-13-2024 08:02 AM

Thinking about splitting the 2x GTS amongst 4 guys for a bro-trip down PCH.

That's insane value for $5K/2,500KM or splitting it 3-4 ways for the summer!

Traum 11-13-2024 09:29 AM

With the Porsche Drive program, I believe each rental allows for 2 drivers to be registered to drive the car.

So Bic Baws really just need to find a partner in crime, and he'd be all set for a 911 or something.

Gerbs 11-13-2024 09:35 AM

How'd we go from $1,500 mortgage being expensive to spending $2,500 a month on a 911 rental!

supafamous 11-13-2024 09:38 AM

Considering a new 911GTS goes for over $300k after tax the Porsche Drive program is a steal (if you have the money and time). Would I rather rent a 911 once a month each year or buy a used ND Miata for $30k and keep it for 6 years? Since I don't really need a second car year round it seems like the 911 is a great deal.
