Sprint race is going to be interesting, pretty sweet to be able to watch a race at 8pm locally.

Can hamilton hold off max through the first lap?

Still can't get used to seeing him in red.

I think he looks great!

(but yeah it's weird) For me he's always been in the silver of McLaren or the silver of MB

OMG OMG OMG OMG I FUCKIN BELIEVE

SkinnyPupp 03-21-2025 07:34 PM

Masterful performance by Lewis. Best to ever do it and he looks REALLY damn good in red today!

Great Sprint by Piastri as well

Lawson is a fucking maniac lol. He drives like I do in the video game. Is that the best Red Bull could do for Max's partner?

This year is going to be fun

Great68 03-21-2025 07:40 PM

So happy to see some variety this year. Happy for Lewis. Sad we had to lose Ricciardo for Lawson.

supafamous 03-21-2025 08:18 PM

Great drive by Lewis! So happy for him.

Tomorrow's race is going to be really interesting b/c of the tire situation - I'm not the tires are going to last.

Under Sprint regulations, drivers will get two sets of the hard, four sets of the medium and six sets of soft, along with six sets of green intermediates and three sets of blue full wets.

I'm assuming qualifying yesterday used up 3 sets of softs for anyone who made it to Q3 and today it was a set of mediums (Sainz needed two sets). Not sure what was run in FP1 - probably a medium and a soft?

Considering the mediums were dead after 12-15 laps I'm not sure the hards will be enough to get them the rest of the way unless they really save their tires. This plays into Lewis' hands if this is true.

HonestTea 03-21-2025 08:34 PM

FUCK YESSS!!!!!

(yes, even though it's just sprint)

Best thing about the Sprint is when your guy wins you get to celebrate, but if he doesn't.. eh who cares it's just the Sprint

Great68 03-22-2025 07:17 AM

I wish every race weekend had a sprint. This is so much better than 3 practice sessions.

I can't believe people who say they like the practice sessions better. More racing and competition is always better than less.

dark0821 03-22-2025 07:56 AM

And give the team for adjustments from Sprint to Race Quali does add drama.

Looks like everyone improved, and the Ferraris stood still. Since both McLarens are ahead of them, I assume McLarens will control the race from there... welp it was cool for the Ferraris for the sprint at least hahaha.

I think it can be a bit track specific - China worked out great b/c of tire (tyre?) wear but there's been some snoozers along the way. Today was a cracker of a race though.

supafamous 03-22-2025 09:41 AM

So I kept my kid up to watch the sprint race with me last night and taught her about tire compounds while reinforcing that Red Bull are the bad guys, showed her Lewis' new car, and explained that we cheer for Lewis, Charles, and George in this house (I'll get to explaining that dad loves Williams as well next time).

This morning we watched qualifying together and I walked through how the 3 rounds work and why they weren't actually racing each other.

Hondaracer 03-22-2025 10:31 AM

While it was a gimmick I wish they had kept it as the winner of the sprint got pole, made for so much entertainment.

Great race by LH, was a masterclass in tire management

While I don’t really care for him George is a hell of a driver and likely underrated given the teams ahead of him.

Lawson, another weekend like this and his seat is gone.

EvoFire 03-22-2025 10:52 AM

^ To make things even worse, he qualified for 20th for the main race.

Granted it's a bad storm for him to start. He didn't get enough running in testing in Bahrain due to technical issues. He didn't get enough running in Australia due to technical issues, the rain soak race was a write off. And being a sprint race in SH, he didn't get to test much again

SkinnyPupp 03-22-2025 11:23 PM

Near disaster for Ferrari as LeClerc bumps Hamilton and loses the front edge of his wing

Instead he's staying within DRS of Lewis as he drags him away from Max. Currently they're over 5 seconds ahead of him at 4rd and 5th place

dark0821 03-23-2025 12:56 AM

not bad at all, not a McLaren fan, but that was dominate, control control control the whole way thru....

lol congratz to team papaya

Max is a consistent bastard eh... all things considered, he is not that behind. Ideal result for him that both McLaren drivers are trading 1st.place finishes

Losing brakes and possible of rain for 3 laps hahaha.... cant wait for the next stop, 2025 is looking like it will be quite a show....

SkinnyPupp 03-23-2025 01:05 AM

Pretty standard race, good work by McLaren. GREAT pass by Max. Ferrari still have to be pretty relieved with that placing considering the start

Lewis gambled a 3 stop and it didn't cost him anything, but it would have paid off had something happened

Not every race will have fireworks at the end though lol

supafamous 03-23-2025 06:46 AM

DQs for Lewis (plank wear), Charles (weight), and Pierre (weight).

Tough situation for Lawson. That car is only drivable for Max - who would even want that seat right now?

dark0821 03-23-2025 09:21 AM

double DQ for Ferrari and Gasly ..... god welp lololol

As a Ferrari fan... bruh..

HonestTea 03-23-2025 10:13 AM

FUCKING HELL double DSQ

68style 03-23-2025 11:30 AM

Talk about splitting hairs... 8.5mm vs 9mm lol

sonick 03-23-2025 01:58 PM

Disappointed for Tsunoda, another poor strategy call by the team and then while he was making up spots his front end explodes with no contact.

I've recently learned that this can be HUGE depending on the scale lol

That really sucks though

sonick 03-25-2025 12:44 PM

Canal+ and Der Telegraaf reporting Yuki to replace Lawson for Japan.

First time actual news orgs and not simply F1 blogs are reporting on this.
