Dang, that Kicks looks pretty good in Nardo Grey!

I wonder how long you can go before the mods start.

6 months later in "What'd you do to your gf's car" thread: Nismo coilovers, Bride seats, turbo kit, 6MT / LSD swap, and a torque-vectoring AWD lifted from a Juke.

i kinda wanna kicks it off a cliff.

first of all, as a nissan fanboi from the yester years, this is a bloody atrocity to the brand. Its basically semi japanese kia now. I say semi because half this garbage is built in mexico or USA. Ya'll remmeber the last good nissan suvs like the Body on frame Pathfinder from the 2000's and the yellow xterra!? man they were so good back then. Along with the 2000's maxima and even the altima wasnt that bad looking. When the original 350z dropped, they were doing so well! better than honda i think. Now look at it... disgusting... no man would want you now you whore.

secondly, the new nissan badge is fugly. Bring back the tiny nissan badge of the 90's and early 2000's. why is this so big? it doesnt add any value making it bigger, it just looks more stupid. Same with Acura, that logo has gotten so big on the modern day RDX/MDX that its comical. At least bmw only made its nose holes bigger and not the actual rondel

thirdly, im sure that CVT will explode into a million pieces. youre dead to me nissan, DEAD! i tell yaaaass

......

but that being said, im sure its a great commuter car and likely will last to about 100,000km or right when the warranty shits itself. I hope she leased it. Otherwise... you know what to do (whispers... "finish her" !!!)

but dont listen to me, im a retard who bought a VW thats been in the shop 7 times now since May 2024.

The M2 still needs some work before it's actually presentable. Right now it's just okay.

I've had the CX-5 for a little over 4 years now and it hasnt been terrible to maintain a black car. It is overdue for a good detail and new coating but I don't have 3-4 days to dedicate to it right now.

90s/early 2000s Nissan overengineered their models, but didn't that also almost bankrupt them as well?

Come on now, your photos are cleaner than 99.5% of listings on the marketplace. If anything I'd make sure your photos aren't stolen and used in other listings.

Yeah the Kicks just sucks. It's doing 75k ish sales in a segment where even the Jeep Compass does 100k+.
IMO they should've kept the Rogue Sport since the Kicks is more Yaris Cross sized than Corolla Cross ....

GM's most recent attempt (Envista, Trailblazer, Trax) are incredibly well packaged and picked up like 3-400k sales.

- Trax: 200k
- Trailblazer: 104k
- Encore/Envista: 120k

im surprise it even sells in that amount. it isnt THAT cheap of a car MSRP wise, it must be because they have insane lease deals.

probably comes down to space and driving position

if most ppl visit 1.4 dealers before buying a car and you're at nissan

seems reasonable to pick a kicks over a sentra with the same base price

gotta be really desperate to get a versa

I wonder how bad a Mitsubishi Mirage is. You can get one for like $16000 for a brand new car. Get a mt one for a track toy?

Lots of truth in the 1.4 dealers per purchase.

I dragged my wife to see all the SUVs when we were looking for a family car. She hated it.

My MIL wouldn't even test drive a car and she would just buy it. Then she would complain the driving position is wrong. Or something isn't good with it, or another. They went from Scion iM -> Nissan Qashqai/Rogue Sport -> X1. FIL is enamoured with his BMW right now.

Worst new car I've ever had the displeasure of driving, couldn't be more wheezy or horrid handling if it tried.

Was happening for decades.

The initial Infiniti Q45 was an asteroid they were never able to recover come. It's ironic that Nissan launched Datsun as a failsafe to protect the Nissan brand and...well...look at Nissan now.

The X1 does seem like a pretty good vehicle.

I even like the styling better than the rest of the X lineup.

Haha stats like that are so silly tho... how does one visit .4 of a dealer

I get it, it's an "average", but to state in a report "People visit 1.4 dealers on average before buying a car" makes zero sense.

I still enjoy my overbuilt Nissan. The fact they had a boutique furniture company out in Italy make these interiors is some Cadillac level of cretinous creativity.

the kicks is a no thrills A-B vehicle and thats it. i dont find it that bad but thats because i dont have to live with it everyday.

"nardo grey" is her favorite color, im lowkey convinced she wanted the car for the color and not the car itself.

no mods!!! i wanted to switch out the wheels for something less "tire shop special" but fuck it, the x5 needs wheels first.

Wife's only requirement for a new SUV was that it must have a rear windshield wiper. I waited 3 years for Hyundai to add this in!

Although I didn't buy from him (he wasn't there when I placed the deposit in March 2022), shout out to dark0821 for posting here that the 2025 models had arrived. I just managed to take advantage of the factory rebate after the federal one ran out. I chatted with him briefly when I picked up the car and he was already suggesting new rims for me. It's a pleasure to witness his passion for all things automotive!

Here she is, freshly ceramic coated:
