Insurnace kill - YESH

Upkeep kill like brakes and tires - YESH

But even if those were taken care of, I still probably cant afford it on the road... or will think twice before taking it out....

I assume it is like ~16L / 100KM .... @ $2.10/L = Its a $7 commute to work one way hahahaha

Maybe I am just poor... I will take the "maybe" out, I am poor hahaha there we go =D

But hopefully 1 day... hehehe~

front: 422 bucks per rotor, 30 dollars for pads.

rear: 123 per rotor, 30 dollars for pads.

sooo 1150 bucks for the parts? this is with genuine lexus OEM parts. i don't know how much a brake kit is for this car from a 3rd party. or how much they want to do a brake job on my car. Its brain dead simple, so I'm not sure why I would even bother taking it to the stealership to do a brake job when I'm doing all my own oil changes right now.

Not bad for a car that's 1/3 the price of its so-called "competitors"

Nope. It’s ~1800 a year with full discount and 5 million 3rd party, 300 / 300 deductible

Since there are only a handful in Vancouver the rates are super reasonable. And the average owners age is like 65+

Mpg is about 13-15L/100km around the city if you’re not pushing it. If you’re pushing it… 18-20L/100km. A tank is ~65L to fill up and goes about 500km in the city.

This is cheaper than Genuine Honda parts for the Type R

Car values have little effect on insurance rates. It's based on how often they are crashed/stolen/driven.

Cars that don't get driven can't get crashed.

^ Yeah something's up for sure. I feather the throttle til ppl flash their highbeams from behind and at best I get 11L/100km. Just try to keep up with traffic in the slow lane and it's like 15L/100km. Drive like a normal person? Forget about it, I'm up at 18. This is over 20 minute drives too so it's not like it hasn't warmed up.

I used to have a '13 Toyota FJ with the 4L V6 and 6MT, and even that returned better fuel economy than this. And that was on KO2 A/Ts and had a roof rack and everything too.

The dealer says they won't look at the Highlander under warranty unless there's an error light, otherwise they'll charge me for the diagnostic.

I have a feeling what's happening is the heat is jammed at max and forcing the ICE to stay on. I have the HVAC set all the way down to 17C and it's always roasting inside the cabin.

All this talk about fuel mileage. Meanwhile I'm averaging 8.3L/100km in the EF on a stock D16A6 I barely maintain on winter blend with cold temps lol. I remember back in the day guys reporting 6.5L/100km on this motor which they rebuilt themselves and turbo'd.

Just slightly unplug a sensor so it trips a CEL and bring it in lol. My Celica does 13 with 1980's technology, a turbo, and an idiot at the controls.

That doesnt make any sense.... thats horrible gas mileage for a car thats half the weight of my hitlerbox. Hitlerbox is getting about that kind of mileage on 87.

this is horseshit, go find yourself a new dealer. Theres no way you should be getting such poor mileage from a relatively new car.

Tell them it's too hot even though it's set to 17C.

Well at least at BMW they'll look at it and come back and tell me if it's broken. Heater codes won't register as a MIL on the dashboard methinks so they'll actually have to scan it.

Alternatively if you haven't done it, stick a scanner on and see if it says anything.

$1,200 a year, but i only insure for 3 months. $600 basic from ICBC then I pay hagrety.
Milage is a lot to do with gearing and tq. You can get a 6L corvette to do better milage than a miata when it can cruise at 150 at 2,500 RPM in 6th and the miata is screaming at red line. Some big motors have really great milage.

Like I said, I have been doing bare minimum maintenance on this motor so I'm pretty happy lol. It's usually worse! But then, before I was only driving around in the city and the motor didn't even have time to warm up before I got to work

Now it's a lot of highway driving

They are rated 26mpg combined when new. So I would say that's pretty good for a 30 yr old car. Is your the 5 speed manual or 4 speed auto?
