It's good for all of us to think about longevity. We wanna be able to sit in our cars in the future!

It'll be interesting to look back to see if anything we did worked though. I'm at peak physique and it's insane, I've never been stronger, faster, more awake, and mobile.

I might do a 50-100KM walking challenge for will power. I can't do difficult things anymore.

189-190 right now, I'd like to be 180ish by May for Greece -- 40th birthday.

Pretty much running full on 1 meals per day right now until heading to Colombia on the 23rd of January.

rest of ya'll can continue your male modeling in peace you body-dismorphic retards.
Part of it is keeping up with my kids.

Part of it is being able to be healthy to SEE my kids reach their milestones. We had kids late by historical standards, granted we were younger than when my dad had me. I was 32 when the first one was born, my dad was 34 when I was born. Seeing my dad getting gassed by my son when playing makes me want to be healthy and strong if my kids do have kids of their own.

Part of it is being able to keep up with my hobbies. A full track day can be a tiring experience, and I want to be able to keep doing that into my 60s.

Part of it is being able to travel into my old age.

The last part is just plain being able to enjoy my old age. My wife pointed out an old couple yesterday at the mall, and asked if we would be like that when we are old. I'm like - I hope not. The old lady was crouched over using a cane and can barely walk. I want to be able to walk and do my own groceries and drive my vintage sports car when I'm 80. I want to be able to walk without a cane. Being strong physically also means you are much less likely to have to deal with debilitating diseases like high blood pressure, cardiovascular issues that are not hereditary, type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and multitude of other life choice issues.

100% agree with what Evo said above.

But I would also add that the problem isn't just about my health and how I'd be able to keep up. In my case, le wifey is really not into this personal fitness / exercising stuff, and I'd dare say that because of that preference, her age is starting to catch up to her now.

It is frustrating that I've been continually encouraging her to keep up on this front, but she simply just doesn't have much interest to get down to it, even if she logically knows and acknowledges the need is there. Forcing / pressuring her to get into it is not a good option at all, because it'll just become a friction point between us, and then we'd get into fights.

The change in mindset and motivation needs to come from her or it won't work. Where is the fun in me travelling alone when I am 65, and she can't be out for long?

I have the same problem with my wife. I've been trying to get her to at least go out for walk in the afternoon but even that's challenging because we don't have afterschool care and my son comes home at 3:15pm and she can no longer get work done. It means she's trying to cram 7 hours of work (8hr workday minus lunch) into 6 hours or less and cannot separate out to do other things.

The silver lining is my son just got into snowboarding, and my wife wants to go with him. It means she needs to get her fitness level up to a certain point in order to not get hurt.

Hobz, tackling your weight and bad tendencies should start now while you're still relatively young, as opposed to trying to "figure" it out in your 50s or later.

Losing weight becomes harder and harder as you get older, the body tends to hold and retain the fat storage it currently carries as it accumulates. Essentially the idea of being able to just go on a "cut" like you could in your 20s where you'd bulk up and get fat in the winter, and drop it all off by spring doesn't hold true that same way, or as easy.

There comes a point as you get older if you let your body run amok weight wise, you likely will never be able to lose it. It's like debt, it's easy to get out of it when it's small, but once you're in the hole those interest payments make it impossible to get out. Add to that back issues, knee problems (mobility stressors), blood cholesterol, diabetes, which all come into play at later ages, makes it even harder to have the physicality to lose that weight.

You're a big boy my guy, you should be careful, and not be so cavalier about it.

A big catalyst for me was reading research on 6'3-6'4 guys carrying 210+lbs, heavily shortens your lifespan due to heart disease.

Most obese friends in their 20's are serious about being ok with the increased risk of dying at 45-60. They don't want to change their lifestyle to extend the elder years.

Maybe your mindset changes when and if you have kids but I wanna be there to play sports with my kids, like how I currently do with my friends parents in their 50's

I appreciate your concern. I will.... TRY (although I honestly don't have much to live for, spy balloon is perfectly fine by herself if I kick the bucket)

ME EAT GUD NAO OKAY? throw out sugarly pancakes and heavy carb items that I love so much. Will try that fasting..... that so many of you male models use and see how that works.

If it all goes to shit, ill diet the opposite direction and become 500lb and end up on a reality TV show of the fattest chinamen. Ill be a fucking sensation in china!!!

What's shocking is the amount of overweight younger East Asian guys I'm seeing these days whenever I venture outside of my non-Asian bubble. Seems to be fewer and fewer skinny fat physiques these days and more either overweight/obese guys or cut guys.

Too much boba and hot pot these days, I guess.

Brown dudes have it the toughest, diet full of fats and dairy.... when my dad had a quadrupe bypass back in like 2014 or whatever it was, I visited him at St. Paul's and the entire cardiac ward besides my dad was all brown dudes and ladies.... save for 1 guy in his 40's in my dad's room who was a skinny white marathon runner guy........... that was weird, can't outrun (no pun intended) genetics sometimes I guess.

Ditto on Indians.

When I was in India on my flight back home at Mumbai Airport, I recall the line up being extremely long and just full Indian seniors waiting to be wheeled onto the plane. I asked my colleagues what's up with that, and he said to me because all of them have diabetes from the diet they don't want to give up. I was like damn son...

I watch an ungodly amount of travel stuff on YouTube and the type of shit the Indian diet consists of is crazy. Im sure the epidemic of diabetes and heart disease is infinitely underreported or simply never diagnosed in India

It’s nothing but butter, animal fats, and sugar

I hear they bleed Jalebi syrup

It's hard for me to gain weight so I always hover between 145 and 155lbs. It's far easier for me to lose weight than gain but I was able to gain 3lbs over the holiday break.

At my age, not concerned about weight but rather, my gene pool that can fit in a thimble.

My GF hit 5.7 on her A1C test 1.5 months ago. She (and I) both have family history of diabetes. Needless to say she went full on course correction with meals and exercise. She's eliminated carbs and she's visibly getting slimmer while gaining muscle fitness. She has another 1.5 months to go so she's hoping to score lower on her next test.

My brother was diagnosed with diabetes in early 2023 and almost died due to no diagnosis. He just rolled on with life until he started sleeping 11 hours a day. Finally went to a walk in clinic where they told him his blood is toxic and he has an extremely high chance of a heart attack.

Now, he's on Ozempic. People think they're invincible until they realize they're just human.

I'm gonna guess that is an unfit 210lbs. A 6'3 guy can easily carry that weight if they work out and it's muscle.

It works better back home I think because of the lifestyle. It's less sedentary and way more walking. Riding a motocycle or even a tuktuk takes strength.

Here, walk down the stairs get into their car, drive to whatever and waddle out. Nevermind the Indians, even the regular ass Asians here tend to be fatter cause you don't have to take the train and do the walking.

I swear of all the the Indian seniors I see wheeled onto a plane, I don't recall seeing them being wheeled off? I don't want to say they're gaming the priority boarding but... being frail enough to require assistance to board but not deboarding?

Oh wait, there was one time, I remember. Flying to Toronto, an Indian senior was wheeled off.... after collapsing in his seat on the takeoff run. They aborted the takeoff, returned to the gate, they wheeled him off with his family in tow and we took off 45 mins late.

Has he screened for sleep apnea? My brother was over sleeping as well. Turns out it was sleep apnea.

What's worse about Indian culture is specifically for the women, since they're encouraged to just stay at home, sit, cook and take care of the kids. Their culture doesn't harbour a mentality of physical mobility, and health in women, very unlike Chinese culture.

My friends that work in healthcare see that compounded with the influx of recent Indian immigration, and how this adds stress on the system. You see older Indian immigrants where the women have a myriad of health issues and aren't facilitated culturally with the knowledge or wherewithal to tackle their problems effectively.

It's a undiscussed problem that I'm starting to hear more rumblings about from healthcare professionals in the public.

i find that indian couples do go for strolls around their house often but you very seldomly see them going for walks on trails or anywhere far from home. and yeah def true, almost all indian aunties are overweight unless they have great genetics.

He's more of a one-step-at-a-time kinda guy.

Hell, he still refuses to admit his 9 year old son has Autism.

He's still 2 years away from getting a family doctor (wait list) unless something changes. He's always had the foresight of Amanda Gallagher.

Lets say I hop on TRT or somehow make it to 210 lbs @ 10-12% body fat, idk if that extra weight is healthy for my joints, it's really heavy especially if I do jumping and moving for sports.

I'd say 210 is still okay, but it would be my maximum I'd wanna hit again at all body fat %.
