What happened? That 2nd photo, he looked like shit for only 65 yo. Did he have some serious illness?

68style 04-01-2025 09:34 PM

Yah he had a hole in his throat from cancer, didn't you watch the new Top Gun?

Traum 04-01-2025 09:35 PM

He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2015, and a tracheal procedure he did damaged his vocal cords. I'm sure chemo weakened him tremendously despite also extending his life by quite a few years.

I actually had no idea what happened to the actor when I was watching the movie.

I looked it up later, and realized it was so bad, even that voice in the film (that made him sound sick) was AI, because he completely lost the ability to talk.

RIP. I didn't know he was a Paneristi

What is that? Like Quakers with fancy watches?

He was also great in Tombstone (directors cut is way, way better than the original one), and obviously Heat.

And Kiss Kiss Bang Bang must have been fun to make.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Kilmer.

eyah people were cutting onion when he was in top gun - Maravick . the feeling and the nostalgia; he gave it his all being ask by Cruise to bein Top Gun.

Didn't know it was AI but I read from the news he gave it his best to try to talk and be in the role.

i remember in my uni days my room mate was watching non-blockbuster films on his PC.

one of which was Salton Sea that starred Kilmer (whom i believe at this time fallen from grace of being a big star).

i was pleasantly surprised by the movie and his acting, i though it was great gem in stumbling across this movie.

glad to see in his later days the love he seemed to get, casted in maverick etc.

i didn't know it was AI, i knew he had throat cancer i thought that was the state of his voice, unfortunate they had to use AI.

If you haven't watched the movie about him on Prime called "VAL" you really should, its super sad and really shows the type of person he was. He was a movie star with tons of bad luck. The Saint is one of my favorite movies of him.

The Saint was the most memorable for Me

He was driving a Volvo C70 convertible Hardtop.

back in the days, when movies were rare to come by, Saint was a great movie.
SO funny, normally i woudl remember the chick (Elisabeth Shue); in this movie, i only remember Val and the ending.

A lot of actors / actresses have bad luck... heck, i know people who are super good looking, trying to be an actress and never make it beyond auditions.
