Can anyone recommend a good BMW salesman in Vancouver?

I am tossing around buying a 2025 6 speed manual BMW M3. I bought a 2016 BMW M3 from Brian Jessel in 2016 but haven't dealt with anyone in their sales department since then. Can anyone recommend a good BMW salesperson in the Vancouver area?

I bought my X5 from Raj in Langley. He's a newer sales there but very easy to deal with, but there wasn't much room on the car so not much back and forth.

My inlaws bought their X1 from Cary at BJ. Quick transaction because we knew what we want already and had a number in hand that he matched

I've bought from Neil at The BMW Store - more of an old school sales imo, will try his best to get you a price you are happy with.

My old sales manager has moved from Hyundai to the BMW store on Burrard.

If you want, you can reach out to Robert Lockwood.

Just say Jacky from Hyundai Richmond sent you, he will take care of you.

I don't have a personal recommendation, but I've heard that a few folks in Vancouver had good experiences with some local BMW sales teams. It might help to check out reviews online or ask around on local car forums for the latest scoop.

^My biggest issue with that is how inconsistent the dealership experience can be depending on the SA get, the sales manager working that day, and how their sales are for that month. Additionally, the high turnover at dealerships in general makes online feedback somewhat useless.

I've been hit or miss with the BMW dealerships around the lower mainland. Anecdotally, Langley and Park Shore were good, AW / BJ were average, and TBS always sucked. Strictly with TBS, I have a few friends living blocks away from that store who'd rather service / purchase their vehicles at adjacent dealerships than deal with TBS again, and others that had no trouble buying from TBS so YMMV.

I would shop everyone if you're planning to order since sales are not good right now, so some dealers might be hungrier than others.

Just go to a few dealers and call ahead first and go with whoever is the cheapest. If you are a member of BMW CCA, you do get a $500 rebate that alss applies to all M cars.

You need to have held the membership for a year prior before you can get the discount

+1 My understanding is that it doesnt matter how incredible/friendly your salesperson is, they’re all at the whim of the sales manager and the current sales/manufacturer incentives

if that's the case sale person attitude is still important b/c it will either make it a great or souring experience.

met several salesmen in the past with a F U attitude

It ain't year y2k anymore.

Mass email all the sales managers at the local BMW. Make it pretty obvious you it's a mass email by saying "HI Everyone" or something. You already know what car you want, you're just looking for who will give you the best price. So tell them you're looking to buy 25 6spd M3 asap ask for what they have in stock and the out the door price for it.

Some will respond personally, some will pass you to a sales person, the rest will ignore you. Just assume the ones that ignored you don't even want your business.

That will not get you the best price.
If you are not even putting the effort in spending some time to go in to the dealership to spend that 100g+ they are not interest to give you the best price either because they know you are shopping around.
Especially OP is looking for something most dealer wouldn't have it in stock.
Money is time.
If you want to save some money go spend the time.
Spend the time go to the dealership and talk to the sales you like the most.
Give them a reasonable offer and there you go for the deal.
There are no cutting corners.
People in the industry can chime as well if I am stating the truth.

I think this type of cold calling doesn't work on a vehicle of this category. Agreed with g-velocity. You'll need to put in some effort to make this work.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. I was thinking of trading my 2023 Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo with 15,000 km that I purchased last year for a 2025 BMW 6 speed manual. I figure it should be almost a straight swap for the 2 cars and depending on the options chosen on the M3 perhaps a few thousand extra dollars added in.

My Taycan is at the dealer right now for a few days having some recalls done on it. If I had my Taycan at home today I was thinking it would be a beautiful day today to take it out for a drive. The Taycan drives great and is extremely comfortable and fast and looks incredible but sometimes I feel I miss the sportiness, sound, and shifting gears in a car like the M3. Perhaps it is a situation where the memories and nostalgia of my 2016 M3 are better than the reality of owning the car today? I only drive about 6,000 km a year so it will not be an every day driver. I am not sure if I should just keep the Taycan which has been an amazing car and a car I always look forward to driving and if I will regret going to a 2025 M3 which has been around in this iteration for 5 years.

YOLO. Keep the Taycan and get the M3.

Side note: Lots of Spyder RS available now.

Aren’t the taycan prices tanking ? You’re gonna take a massive haircut. Why not just keep it if you’re already that much underwater.

I think you might be surprised how bad your Taycan has depreciated. It's a great car but no one wants one. You might have to put money on top to get the G80 unless you are leasing.

For sure the Taycan has continued to depreciate heavily since I bought it last year. I bought it used with a 5 year CPO warranty with 10,000 km last year so it was discounted by quite a bit when I bought it. I talked to a dealer last week and taking into account the savings of 5% GST and 10% BC PST on trading in the Taycan for the M3 the net cost of driving the Taycan for the year would be $25,000 to $30,000. A high cost for sure for one year but not unheard for cars in this price range.

As bcrdukes said YOLO. My father passed away 2 years ago and that really reinforced my mindset that time is finite and limited for all of us. My budget doesn’t allow me to have both so just deciding which vehicle in their own way provides the most driving enjoyment. I don’t race my cars but sometimes still miss the fun, tactile feeling, and sound of shifting gears but on the other hand the Taycan Cross Turismo looks incredible and is so comfortable and the interior is much nicer than the M3.

FYI I have a G82 manual M4 and my advice is to test drive it. Yes on paper it blows away all the other M3’s but to me it’s very sterile and not exciting like the E46/E92. Artificial engine noise pumped in through the speakers and it’s obvious the car was designed around the 8speed auto and the manual was thrown in as an afterthought for the north american market.

Just trying to help both side.
Buyer can save some money and seller got a deal that make business sense and both sides won't be wasting time.
Have been in the business long enough to see too many people making mistake by thinking they know enough to beat the system but ended up wasting both time and money.

Interesting feedback!

While not exactly the same car, one of my friends had an M2 and did instruction on it with PCA and BMW clubs last year. He was gracious enough to let me drive it around the track a few times and we both agreed, it was sterile and not all that exciting.

Don't get me wrong - it was a fantastic car, but you always felt wanting more out of the car, especially it being an M car. Around town and whatnot also felt the same. He sold the car shortly after.

Khan at BJBMW. I've dealt with him for over a decade, bought a lot of cars from him. No issues and always gives a steep discount.
