Let's say, you were a pretty chill guy with an okay salary.
What could, realistically, you even do to help the overall mental health of your society?

Urgent Blood Drive – This Saturday in Burnaby (TBC)
After the recent mass casualty event, it has been confirmed with the blood bank — reserves are critically low and they urgently need donations.
The Axon track group (formerly TSS x RS) is running a blood drive.
They need at least 50 people for the trucks to come — aiming for 100+.
If you’re able to donate, please express interest and I'll share the updates here (mods move to new thread if needed). Details coming soon. Every donation matters right now.
Thank you for stepping up.

This is another GoFundMe for the Lapu Lapu tragedy that I have come across: https://www.gofundme.com/f/lone-surv...y-vancouver-bc Quote:

Is there somewhere I can donate a meager $50 to, for some sort of memorial or such for the victims of the worst violence in Vancouver?
If someone has go-fund-mes for people in recovery for this event, please post them here, because all publicity helps. Lots of people will need years of support to recover from this. Maybe this thread can document some of the stories of the still-living victims of this incident, and maybe inspire others through their strong recoveries in the face of such senseless chaos. |

There were posts that this guy if Filipino, but some news report he's from Taiwan? Not that his race or origin matter all that much, and now X linking him to CCP. Have news outlets been fact checking this guy correctly?

You can tell by their last name they're Chinese.
And even if they're linked to the CCP who even cares? People online are messed up.

The family is Fookien -- Chinese Filipinos.
What sucks is that the injuries are lost in translation in cases like this.
A guy at the festival lost his young niece and his own leg, imagine what he's going through.
So many nasty injuries from this whole thing.

I'm a little hesitant to give sources, but the family can speak Tagalog, there's tons of Chinese Filipinos, which tend to be Fookien.
All I can say is from what I've been hearing, they're Chinese Filipino.
GFs family fall in the same ballpark too.

Why so coy with all the speculation? I mean where are you getting this stuff from? Filipino aunties Whatsapp groups?
Yes a large majority of Chinese in SE Asia are of Fujian (Hokkien) descent. Me being half of one of them. But you know who else are also of majority Fujian descent? Taiwanese.

I'm not sure what we're debating here Civic, we're saying the exact same thing.
As for being coy, I've already mentioned my prior work experience and the types I can garner information from, I would never name them specifically as they could get into some serious trouble jobwise, hence leaving it vague.
