iphone 2g help

ok, my iphones been working perfectly since i got it, until today.... was fine in the morning, i made a call then all of a sudden the no service logo came up and i loose all my sound from my external speaker.... i cant make any calls or hear anything. no ring tone, no music, sometimes it'd work when i plug in the ear phone but other times wouldnt. i have been on 1.1.4 all this time, so i reset all settings to no avail. then i upgraded to 2.2.1 and jailbroke/unlock with Quickpwn. STILL no sound or service.... i pop the sim card to my old phone and works perfectly.... wtf can anyone help? i didnt drop it or anything just stopped working all of a sudden....

plug it in and hit restore. if that doesn't work, then you know its not software related.
