For those who have the phone, I was wondering if there is any Rogers-branded software or restrictions in the phone?

Examples:
Rogers wallpapers, ringtones, etc.
Rogers shortcuts (eg. Sony Ericsson phones)
Can't use user created ringtones

I am deciding whether to get it in HK or here instead. The only reason why I want to get one in HK is because it's not locked and there isn't any carrier software installed.

u can always get the phone rooted (kinda like jalibreaking) so u can install whatever u want and get it unlock. the only difference between one here and hk one would be u won't be able to get 3G data speed here with the hk version.

No there isn't really, there's an online database called the "Market" that you access through your phone and download a ton of applications, wallpaper, ringtones etc. There's still the Rogers shortcuts, but I don't use them and you can delete them off your home page

the default rogers software has a lot of rogers branding/icons on it.
however, it is very easy to 'root' it and flash it to w/e software you want to get rid of all the rogers crap
