re-tighten stainless steel exhaust after initial install?

I got a stainless steel axle back system installed a few weeks ago... the shop advised that I would need to get it re-tightened... if this common practice?

dont need to be re-tightened. unless they didnt put gasket between flanges

Its not common but its not wrong to do either.
