Squamish/whistler camping

Wanting to go camping this weekend, anyone been to cat lake in Squamish?? Went there few years ago and was wondering if that place is still around cause I remember talk about it being turned into a golf course...any truth to this? If so, any other camping spots in the area???

Alice lake is really nice, it's a government site though
