What you state is correct.
But when I met with Transport and Customs , off the record they said "we do not want these old cars in Canada" they will always find some obscure ruling or law to screw you.
They said if you bring it in under the rule that you lived overseas for the 1 to 2 year period they are very nice to you and you will have no problems if you do your paperwork right (and they will help you with it). But if you try to bring in the big $$ car or performance car under the fifteen year rule they do not like it and they will go to town on you.
They are sort of like the Richmond Cops with VI's your is bone stock and they still go after you. Cops, Transport Canada and Customs all fall under the same mind set of "I have the Uniform"
That is why I saw that the 15 year rule is not the way to bring a car in.
