I have completed every single FF game released in North America, on all platforms, except for Mystic Quest cuz that was gay! So I can make these comments.
FF7 was one of the worst FF game ever, story wise. Damn Chocobo racing was retarded and the ending was not worth the time spent playing. Like isn't that the whole point in playing a RPG? A good story, and a good ending that rewards you for putting in 50+ hrs?
If you haven't played FFX, then you should before you bitch about them making a sequal. FFX is great.
Now, I could care less about graphics. I play RPG's for the story.
FF7's story line was boring and the ending was retarded.
FFX's story is quite good and the whole game in general made it worth playing. I love games that have good endings. I was touched by FFX's ending. Give it a try and see if you agree.
Personally, my fav FF game of all time was FF3 (North American version). I personally love RPGs where there are many playable characters, and each character has their own story/agenda and the ending shows something for each character. FF3 was great, every character had their own issue to deal with.
The FF game the really blew me away graphics and sound wise was FF2 (North American release) Haha, it was a big step from FF1 to FF2 IMO. It was my first SNES game and I hooked it up to an amp and boy, it was amazing, at the time
I don't think game sales = good game.
I bought into the hype, rented Dragon Warrior 7, supposedly the #1 selling game in the history of Japan. And it sucked....big time.
