yank out the bezel, its a pain in the ass to do and you'll risk breaking your speedo cable when you put it back in... just keep an eye on keeping everything lined up. i guess if you wanted it unhooked for just a short period you could detach the bezel and just let it hang out enough so that the speedo cable doesnt make contact
in order to do so, you'll have to yank most of the cosmetic dash shit off... and it'll end up looking something like this
