as for this video.. the guy did live.. but received multiple burns to his face and body. he sued the event organizers for lack of help and stuff and the pace car was going way to fast. he got the equivelent of $800,000 us dollars.
i'll dig up an article on it. he was one of ferrari's top drivers too.
