You've got a great site in terms of design! and some very nice photos!

however to beat a dead horse, you're not creating proper gif's and jpg's for your site. all your images, even at that size, should be no bigger then 150k. on average your images were 550k +. Simply terrible by the laws of site design.....slow site means you'll lose your viewers because its too slow to load. web people are the most impatient. if it takes more then 2 seconds to load, it's too late they've moved on.

now, the way to make your files smaller in file size is to use the "save for web" feature in photoshop.
-open an image >> 'file' >> 'save for web'.
-change the view to '2 Up' by clicking the tab in the upper left of this window. you should now see your image twice side by side. one is going to be your original, and the other is to preview what your image will look like as you change the settings.
-Now select 'JPEG medium' in the drop down list of 'settings'.
-if you move the 'quality' bar, you'll notice the file size of your image (in kb) changes at the bottom of your image. i typically save my images around '55', play around and find a setting so that your image end up being around 100k. note-the same thing can be done with your gif menu buttons, except they should be around 100 bytes.

The font you used is hard to read at small sizes. i'd suggest making the font bigger, or change fonts.
<< too small!
