I like Japone, Ajisai, and Octopus Garden for moderately-priced meals ($100 for 2).

My friend had fish testicles at Japone. The chef prepared them especially for their table; I don't believe it's on the menu. I dare someone to ask for them the next time they're there!

(I'm not quite so adventurous.)

I like Samurai Restaurant on Davie for cheap sushi (perhaps $30 for 2).
