i did my research for both cameras. Dpreview did a pretty good review on both cameras. What i am looking at in a camera is picture quality. I know the panasonic features a Leica lens, but the fz-5 has a few draw backs. No adapters, u have to buy their batteries. canon has full manual control, aa batteries. so it really comes down to picture quality...
