B+W is even more so. The Hoya multi-coating is very hard to clean, and if not cleaned properly, the filter can be made as bad as any of the cheaper brands. Mechanical build quality sucks compared to the German makers, too.

is there any brands that is cheeper than B+W but have better built than a hoya UV filter? i want one for my S2. If i scratch the lens, the whole camera is messed then. So i sorta want a good filter but not a filter thats gonna break the bank.
