I got the 300D used from one of the guys on here (Jomo - who's been super helpfull with all the questions I had, btw)
I love it. No problems. Very solid camera, takes nice pics. I got a wide angle lens that's much sharper then my original lens and I don't think I'll be upgrading anytime soon since I'm so new at photography as yourself.
It all depends how much "bling" you got. If you're tight on cash, go with the 300D. You won't be disappointed.
