Use a proper program to do your editing. i.e. Photoshop and you shouldn't have to worry about loss in quality when you resize for web.
another thing that might cause JPEG compression artifacts is the site that's hosting your pics... they might have a limit to bandwidth so they may cut down the quality of your pics.
otherwise I don't see why one should complain about stuff like that when it can easily be resolved by doing it the proper way.
Plus, I haven't seen any "artifacts" in any of your shots, Andreas, so I'm not too sure why you think it's degrading the quality of your pics.
Either I have a crappy monitor or you guys are simply too paranoid about trivial things. lol
*edit*, a quick USM after resizing usually brings back the sharpness you lost after resizing.
