The collection agency will harrass you for several months, and subsequently put a warrant for your arrest. Meanwhile, the interest rate on the ticket will continue to rise. I got a $180 ticket in WA a while back. At first I laughed it off. Then cursed at the collection agents. Then, when the warrant for my arrest showed up, I called up and paid the fine - by which point the fine had tripled.
PS: It's not just for getting pulled over. You won't be able to get past customs. They'll detain you at the border.

really, when i read up it says 5 years and the shit goes away. they cant arrest me in vancouver, but if im in oregon they can.
