as it should be readily obvious to you, the first and foremost issue with the photo is the exposure. It is quite a bit over exposed. I think you used the flash which would explain how brightly lit the front of the car is versus say the hood, and this is the proper technique. However, I would say this photo should've been exposed less. The bottom line is if you only want to expose for one thing, it should be your subject. If you are with a tripod, you can do multiple exposures to expose properly the background and car seperately so that you can combine them through Photoshop.
Composition is alright. If you were dead set on that much background, I'd have moved the car closer to you in such a way that it maintained a similar angle (though a bit more side and less front would be good). Ideally it would encompass the right 2/3 width wise.
