yay i've got to wait a week until i can move into my new place.
looks like the previous tenants decided to hold a gigantic trash-the-place party (100-200 people) on their last night before having to move out (eviction for too many parties from what i understand - big suprise). upstairs they took runs at a wall seperating two bedrooms trying to make a passage between them. they distroyed the living room carpet and left huge stains and a strong odor. they tore down an entire wall housing the furnace. nearly every wall from top floor to basement had various sized holes. the cops were called and im not sure if the landlord is pressing charges on the tenants but i really hope they do. the landlord is this sweet old lady and she quit after that night - in all her years she had never seen anything like this.
the good that comes from this is that all the walls are being repaired or replaced and painted as well as new carpet at no expense to us.
the bad: - the delay in moving out as my soon-to-be roommate has no where to stay and a whole lot of stuff to move
- the nice old landlord so upset she quit
- having to experience the appaling lack of respect people have for others and property.
almost everyone i've told in person about what happened seemed to have heard about this party. almost like they put out tv ads for it or something lol. id almost be disappointed i didn't get an invite but from what i hear it was mostly teenagers.
