has anyone tried using the m3lite and r4 together for pokemon?

what i mean is having pokemon ruby/sapphire/emerald/firered/leafgreen on the m3lite and then running pokemon diamond/pearl on the r4 and then successfully trading pokemon? i dont think thats possible nor do i want to waste $80 trying to find out.

anyone try that? if not.. anyone know where i can grab a used ruby/emerald/sapphire/firered/leafgreen for less than a brand new one (lol EB has used sapphire for $39.99)
